Anyone have one? What do you think? Thinking of picking one up today off GB, they seem to run under $3K and look pretty nice,
thanks

I use to carry an X-Tac Compact. It's definitely a nice gun, great shooter like all WC's. The "X" pattern is nice, easy on the hands, but still provides a nice grip. I don't think you'll go wrong with it! .45 ACP?

45 for sure, I have a Volkmann now, made by a great local guy but thought I'd grab another one while I'm waiting for my Commander to be built.

Volkmann does nice work from what I have seen.

I think you'll enjoy the X-Tac. Full size?

I came within a fraction of an inch of ordering an X-TAC last week, and I would have, but I wanted stainless steel. Wilson Combat would not do the X-TAC in ss, so I ordered a Nighthawk Custom GRP in ss. I really like the X-TAC, and maybe I'll get one next, or I may go with Volkmann. His work looks really nice and I've read good things about him. Volkmann's 1911, which is #7 in the gallery on his web site just looks fantastic to me.

I would check out Guncrafter Industries as well, Alex Zimmerman makes a very high quality 1911. I think you'll love the GRP, I have one in a 9mm, great gun!
