Does anyone here know how the safety works on the TRG? I know it's located in the trigger guard, and you press it foward to disengage, however, it seems to only work if the bolt is open. If the bolt is closed, I can't seem to get it to stay engaged.

I just did this to verify and here is what I found on mine. If the bolt is down and it has been fired then the safety will not engage. If the bolt is down and it hasn't been fired then the safety will engage.

If you have the bolt down and it has been fired, if you simple lift up the bolt you can then engage the safety.

The TRG trigger assembly has a small plunger that engages upward into the bolt body when you 'safe' it; that's why you can't open the bolt with the safety 'on' with the TRGs. If your safety is working fine without the bolt in the rifle but fails once the bolt is replaced, I'd check to ensure that the plunger is free to engage the cutout in the bolt and isn't hanging up on anything.
