Hey all,

Looking to see if there are any pictures or ideas out there for a fixture to true actions on a CNC Mill? I am most curious about how to handle any runout in the Z axis of the indicating rod without a 5th axis?

Anyway, would be greatful for any pictures and ideas.

damn, re-read and see where he explains it is like a 4-legged stool with adjustable legs

am now curious what holds the whole assembly down to the table.

I can envision something like Nate's adjustable chuck, might work well also

I think Nate's adjustable chuck would work just fine also. Both fixtures give you the adjustment needed to dial in the bolt raceway. I thought Nates ball and sock design was a rather inovative approach to dialing in an action and I see no reason why you couldn't adapt it to a CNC mill.

How about something like this? It won't be as quick or solid as the one Mr. Dixon has made, but it should work.
