I borrowed an Giraud annealer here from another member to try, first its a great unit well built etc. after say 500 223 cases it just stopped dead in its tracks. disconnected the motor itself and that seems to be the problem ?
Anyone else have an issue with ione of these?

I am not nocking the product as I have one of their trimmers and there a great company I just feel like an ass that I borrwoed something and it failed while i was using it !!!!!

    Thanks Bill

Is the motor locked up or hard to turn by hand? If not, the motor could have a thermal limiter that shuts the motor down if it overheats. Have you tried letting the unit stand for a while, then trying it again?

Don't feel bad, if it broke, it was going to break. It's not your fault.

Thank you for the suggestion, I did allow any thermal to clear and the motor appears to be locked but when the switch is flipped and the potentiometer is turned up you can see the core winding move slightly, voltages are good .
Just wondering if anyone else has had the issue ?
As the post said I beleive in the company and not saying it was any manufacturing issue maybe infany mortality.

Doug has an email on this subject

It could be the motor start capacitor if one is used with this motor. I know there is one on the motor used in the trimmer. From what you said, the motor isn't siezed and the voltages are good so not much more to go wrong.

True this one does not have the motor start as its a DC variable, but thank you for the thought . the trimmers are constant speed a/s this si a DC drive

Doug sent me an email at 1:15 this morning. He's sending the motor out ASAP. He says this is a result of a case falling in vertically and jam the feed wheel. He says failure is almost instant when this happens.

understand the comment but I was watching it and it happened just as a new case dropped for annealing , also there were some 100 above it maintaning the horizontal.
Anyhow great support from Doug will be glad to get it working correctly for you

Not a problem. Its more reason to buy from good guys like Doug. I'll definitely buy from him in the future, especially after dealing with him this time.

A good friend of mine was the 13th case of the motor failing last year. He was sent a new one and so far so good.
