Are the quality of these two scope pretty equal? I know the Vortex customer service is pretty much the best in the business, and that means alot. I have a few buckmasters, and pro staff but have never looked through a Monarch. This will be going on my new hunting rig/paper puncher. I have not decided on power yet, just looking toward brand right now. Thanks any info on these two would be greatly appreciated.

Monarch series seem to have very nice glass.
The problem with Nikons: VERY limited adjustment range and they do not make a single scope with matching reticle/adjustments.

My past dealings with Nikon customer service would make me take a Vortex over them 7 days a week and twice on Sundays. As a matter of fact, you can't give me a Nikon. One will never touch my rifles.

Save yourself the pain and don't buy a Monarch, I made the mistake and did. The first one I had the windage screw sheared off while shooting my 308. The Second one seemed to have dirt or debris inside the scope. And yes they are limited to internal travel, the one I had only had like 30 MOA total elevation. Nikon did warranty the scope, but took several weeks and lots of paperwork. I have no experience with Vortex, the 2 Night Forces I have though are GTG.

I have a buckmaster and it is ok and shot with my friends monarch and was not impressed with it. Between the two vortex and not a second thought

I'll make it unanimous. I've owned three Nikons, two of them broke within days (parallax adjustment only went so far and then stopped on one, and windage quit working on the other) and the third came with a .308 and doesn't get shot much; hasn't broken yet though.
Vortex makes some nice scopes, and their customer service is incredible. Currently running a Razor HD on my main match rifle.

Vortex seems to keep increasing their following daily. I know I am very happy with my viper and plan on buying more till I can justify high end glass and then it may be a razor purchase. I was a fan and became a bigger vortex fan after contacting their customer service in regards to a question related to a pending purchase.
