I was able to purchase 3 boxes of a hundred of CCI High Vel. HP this morning. At Wally World.
It seldom comes through and is restricted to 3 boxes but I was happy to see that.
Something is just "Basically Wrong" with so little 22 ammo around.
I smell stinking rats. Regards, FM

I'm going to check the one by me in the morning. The wife and I just bought some NAA mini revolvers. Fun as hell can't hit shit more than 20ft away hahah. But 1hr of fun put us down to about 200rds of CCI lr left. Eeeek.....

uhhh...the 'stinking rats' are us ;-)
I was picking up some .22WMR yesterday...something my dealer never has supply issues with because there just aren't that many who shoot it in my area.
They had sparse pickings because he said his few regulars that buy it had all been in the last week or so and each took a case.
What the hell...I took his last case of Remington Accutips myself, I'm just as guilty of thinking there won't be any left this summer.
We're creating our own problem.
Now...I'll agree that there are stinking rats around. He said that all the manufacturers were increasing prices at least 25%...so the manufactureres are definitely screwing us IMO.

The walmart near my house hasnt had .22lr in months! Its easier to find .223 right now than .22lr...anyone come across bulk boxes for a good price online PM me please! thanks

I was in our local WallyWorld yesterday while the wife was preoccupied with something else. I cruised down the sporting goods section and overheard 2 men asking an employee about ammo. He said NO pistol or 22 ammo and few centerfire rifle ammo for at least 2 months. After that it will be max at 2 boxes per purchase. The only thing it seemed that they had was .410, & 12 guage shotgun shells.

Check palmettostatearmory several times per day... they get it in fairly regularly but it goes QUICK! They just had some a couple days ago.

I dont see how. The market dictates the price.

There is also a shortage of bullets as Home Land Security ordered/bought 2 billion bullets of the last year.

yeah i know now the schedule of ammo shipments for 5 stores in my area just trying to find some 22lr!

Very slowly 22LR and occasionally 9mm and .223 trickles in down here. Not very often and is gone fast but it is at least coming.
I hope more comes our way but this is a small store.
My son lives in Ft. Collins and has been able to get a little 22LR more often than me.
This sure has cut down on what I feel comfortable shooting. Don't want to shoot too much more than I can replace.
Wally World is the only place I have found 22LR, the other supply store here has nothing. Regards, FM

I got 3 boxes of Rem. 100rd gold bullets. @ Wal-mart.
They would not let my wife buy any. Said that it was 3 boxes to house hold.
Then they had 9mm. The boy working said ..... He could not sell the
9mm. Said he needed it and was going to buy it all when he got off work.
Then the guy behind me wanted the other 2 boxes of .22 (the ones
he would Not let my wife buy) he told him that he was saving it for one of
His buds that called.

I think if I would have not got in the shipping box and got out the .22
He would have not sold me what I got.

I don't think that the workers sould b able the save ammo
For buddy's And buy the rest for thier self's.

That's just what I think !

You should have asked for a manager. Walmart does not value their employees, I don't think they would have sympathized with him.

They are all running at 100% and the shelves are still being picked clean. They raise their price and they are still being picked clean. Just because it is more expensive today...when there is zero competition because everybody can sell everything...than it was yesterday, when there was real price competition, does not mean you are being screwed by the manufacturers. They make a product and sell it at what the market is willing to pay.

The panic buyers are screwing those of us just wanting to have enough stock to shoot our normal amount without worry.

Frankly, you should be happy that the manufacturers haven't doubled their prices to see if the market will pay it.

If your logic is sound, then I believe we will see double the price soon. I agree that the market sets the price. This is exactly what is happening right now.

When I purchased my ammo there was a sign that said 3 boxes per customer. It took a while but I finally realized it was not 3 boxes of 22 and three boxes of 9mm [make up your own list.] and that is what I bought.
I got 2 boxes of 22LR 100 rds. each and 1 box of bulk 223 Fed. 100 rds.
That is 3 boxes.
I did not argue or hassle, I left with my ammo, very HAPPY HAPPY.
Now, what do you think I did???, Leave the area knowing there was ammo on the shelf? No, I went over a couple of lanes in the store and found Panty 6+, AKA Old Lady, The Squaw.
She went and bought her 3 boxes, all 22LR and was happy as hell. She shoots 22 handguns so it was no surprise to me what she bought. However, if it would have been 2 boxes of 22 there and a box of 9mm. or nothing else, she would buy what she uses and nothing more.
We left and when we got home The Squaw got out some older ammo and replaced it with the new buy and she is still out at the range.
Just a thought, but do you have a "Here's Your Sign?" show sign? Regards, FM.

PS I offered the money but she told me she had some. Married for 38 long years and shacked up for 2.
Is that 40 long years?

That is a good way to get fired at our Wally World. I have a friend that is the assistant manager at ours. I'm not talking about a help you hide the bodies friend but a make the bodies for you friend. He put two of his associates on the street for doing what you described. When ammo came in they would call a list of people to come buy ammo and would empty the shelf. Most found its way onto shelves at two local pawn shops. Now you can get ammo if you check early every day and catch it while it is there.

I think it is all up and up here, however, it is best to check the shelf early when I go get 6+ her donut. If you snooze you loose.
Regards, FM

I think it would be bet for all of you to just stop buying ammo for a couple months.. or at least long enough for me to find some and buy it.... Thanks.

Yea, what he said. Seems like Wal Mart and Cabela's are the only ones that are getting ammo and selling it at anything approaching sane prices, if you can get any. I'm down to just 400 rounds (from 1600) of the CCI Green Tag my target gun likes and even if I didn't care what I paid for it I can't find any.

Agreed. Someone has to pay for the over head and over time of manufactures working their employees around the clock to catch up with supply in demand.

I was at Walmart today. I had a lady scan a tag for me and the computer said they had 7 boxes of 22 ammo. She said she didn't know where it was. The scanner also said that bulk cans do 22 ammo has been deleted from their system. 9mm is on order. Seven whole boxes.
