"Previously, if you made a post, it simply added N+1, now things have changed. The way the system works now, is that the post count is value based...that is, you only get counted if your post significantly contributes to the Original Posting. Since the new alogrithm was applied to the entire database, if you lost post count, it was because you didn't have a positive contribution or was wrong to the thread upon which you responded."
If this statement is not sarcastic and is valid, then I totally disagree that your "new algorithm" is working. Speaking only for myself, I believe that at least 95 percent of everything I have ever posted on these forums, since 2006, has contributed to the OP. Most of my posting came on either the reloading, rifles, optics, gunsmithing, equipment, fieldcraft, and for-sale forums.....and the vast majority of times, IMO, my post helped or contributed to the OP. I never saw the value in "LOL", "wish I had the money", "+1", etc..
I am not responding to simply flame your post or stir the pot, and I appreciate the need for, and labor to, change this site's software. As I stated before, at some point there should be a reasonable criteria and subjective solution applied to this issue. Someone needs to make a decision that is not based on "new algorithms" IF the lost post issue will never be resolved.
