Picked this up from my FFL on Saturday. I'll get it out to shoot in a few days, and I'm sure it shoots even better than it looks.

This was my first custom project, and Mark could not have been any better to work with.

SAC Alpha 11 Action
1:8 26" Bartlein Barrel
McRee Chassis

My pictures are kind of awful, but it will look better shooting anyway.

Whoa, what is that barrel contour and barrel diameter at the action and at the muzzle? Looks awesome, and... sturdy :)

Did you opt to have the stock skim bedded or was the barrel action just bolted on?

Awesome, let us know how she shoots.
Mark is also starting a new build .338 for a friend of mine; can't wait to see the results.
Good shooting.

The barrel contour is M40. The McRee is bolted right to the action. I do know Mark suggest skim bedding on some chassis systems, but did not on the McRee.

The barreled action is Patriot Brown. I didn't feel like it would be an SAC build without it.

What color is the McRees? That is one fine looking stick!

Very nice rifle. Mark's work is so clean and beautiful.

Slightly OT, how does one adjust the LOP on a McRee chassis?

Justin,

On the underside of the Mcree Chassis, there are two screws that will position the butt stock assembly on the chassis body. There are a series of holes so the user can adjust the LOP by moving the butt stock assembly fore and aft in a slot. You can most likely get away with using just one screw, but two screws to secure the assembly would be best.

First shot was to dial the scope in. The group near the bullseye is 5 shots. I think the rifle likes the load.

The chassis is the stock McRee FDE.

Perfect! Sweet stick, and nice shooting! But more important for me is i now know what fde looks like on a rifle. I was going to go with desert sand for the custom barreled action that I'm putting on this modified HS precision stock that i painted but my gunsmith recommended fde. I think i agree!
