I normally use the 130 Hunting VLD with my 6.5X47. Right now I can't get my hands on any. I do have quite a few 123 A-Max on hand. Have you guys shot them at 1000? I was wondering how much I would be giving up.
With a BC of about .500, they are the ballistic equal of the 175 SMK, but with less recoil than a .308. They aren't ideal, but you are still better off than using a .308.
I did a wind test with the 130 vs the 140. At 520 yards with a slight but steady 3 to 4 mph wind the 130's shot flatter but drift was 1 to 1 1/2" more. The 140's didn't move more than 1/2 "
