So heres my dilemma. I built a 223 AR for last years trip, went all out, chambered my own barrel, Young Mfg bolt, Jewell Trigger, UBR stock. The thing shoots lights out with the 53gn Vmax I shoot out of it.
This is the problem, I also have a 22-250 I built that puts on so much better of a show than the 223. Granted, the AR will kill them no problem, and every once in awhile youll get a good show, but the 250 is just on a whole other level. So basically I just end up shooting the 250 the whole time, though I do like the advantages of the AR and higher capacity/rapid fire for running dogs.
If youve pdogged before you know that kills are only fun for the first hour, then you need to start flipping and throwing to have serious fun.
Heres the question. What higher velocity options are there on an AR15 platform? I see Olympic does a 22-250, which would be AWESOME, but takes proprietary mags and lower. I dont want a 204, weve had an R15 in our group and he sold it because it failed to throw them.
Anything 6mm or something? Thanks!
