Just got word that my scr-11 should be here in a few day so it's time for a scope. As of right not it will be a vortex hd 1-6. Has anyone seen anything new for shot show that I should hold out for or get instead...? I did see that nigh force released a new 1-? But don't remember what the price was... This will be for 3 gun and other gun stuff ; ) also no swaro just can't justify the 1000 price jump...

Thanks again

Leupold released the new MK6 1-6 at shot 2012, just made it to dealers within the last couple months. I ended up going with one over a Razor Gen 2 for the following advantages:

Lighter (17.0oz vs 25.2oz)
FFP vs 2nd focal
Exposed mil turrets vs capped MOA turrets
Locking turrets
Zero stop
Wind holds on the reticle at all distances (cmr-w reticle.)

Was told and read multiple places the MK 6 reticle is not daylight visable though. Would be a deal breaker for 3 gun. I want a nice visable dot.

In the list weight is the only disadvantage I see for a 3 gun optic.

Thanks Bm11 But I would prefer second focal for this scope. and for the price of the mark 6 I would probably just add a few bucks and get the swaro.

It definitely was the day I had it out. I have heard the TMR is not, but the CMR-W I can confirm with my own eyes, definitely IS.

Could you take a pic sometime of it in the daylight with a target in the background and on 1x? Thanks.

I have a mark 6 w tmr reticle and its been out to the range once for zeroing in. I'm going to have to get it out on a sunny day and see for myself if red dot is bright enough at 1x. I've looked through it from my house window and with a flashlight into it and it looks good to me. I have not had an opportunity to compare with a S&B short dot. This phone camera pic. 1x and 6x

I can verify that the Mk6 CMR-W definitely is not just daylight visible but actually very bright in full sunlight. We finally had a couple of hours of blue skies and sunshine yesterday afternoon here in NEOh and I got the chance to evaluate mine under sunny conditions. As far as I'm concerned the illumination is as bright as you could want. Is it "Aimpoint bright", as may have asked? Well... side by side with my Comp M3 I can say that the Mk6 at it's highest setting is not as bright as the Aimpoint at it's highest but it is every bit as bright as the setting I'd actually use for the Aimpoint under the same sunny conditions. As far as I'm concerned this scope is an absolute winner! (and I say that as one who has been disappointed by the illumination on every other low-power I've tried.
