Is anyone running this particular stock on their rig? I've got a 260 rem. 700 bdl with a hart #5 26" bbl. a Leupold 6.5x20x50 scope on top of a Tally 20 moa base, this is why I'm asking about the adjustable cheek piece. I use it for a hunting rig but am shooting longer ranges with and am trying to see how you all like or dislike the stock.

Thanks hunter966

If you go with the A1-3, it has the same grip as the HTG, but has a higher comb. Works a lot better with optics than the HTG.

I'm using an adjustable HTG and love it. I picked it up as a stock that would be comfortable to carry for hunting and shooting off hand, but would still provide good cheek weld in the prone for longer shots. The adjustable cheek piece really shines then.

I have a Rem 5R that I dropped in to an HTG I bought off of here on the Hide. With a seekins 20moa scope base and a leupold 6.5-20 50mm in medium rings I find my natural cheek resting spot to be very close to where I need it, so no need for the adjustable cheekpiece. If you find you need a little bit more height then try a triad stockpack.

I have one in the safe just not adjustable. Its a great stock for hunting and light weight. Well made like other MCM stocks with no flex or any of the issues with the cheap stocks just doesnt have the pistol grip or rear bag hook but for a lightweight hunter its great.

The only negative to the adjustable A-1 is that it adds quite a bit of weight to the stock. If you barrel is on the long side and a heavier contour the added weight will help it balance.

I own one on my primary hunting rig. I am putting another one on my varmint rig, for the purposes you mentioned they seem as perfect as any option I've found.

I have a Mcmillian HTG Adjustable. It works, but the McMillan adjustable hardwear is no where near as good as Terry Cross' Loggerhead. I suggest you get a HTG or an A1-3 and have the Stock Doc install the KMC Loggerhead in it. You would then have the best of both worlds. The standard A1-3's comb is only 1/4 inch higher than the HTG comb. It's still not high enough for the proper eye alignment with a canted/tactical base and scope set up. Stock Doc's work is first class and he has done countless installations for many Hide members. Contact him and he can send you pics.
