Straight from Facebook !!! Go Magpul !!

    By Magpul Industries Corp.
We are proud to announce that within a matter of days we will be going live with a new program. Due to a bill currently moving through the Colorado legislature, there is the possibility that Colorado residents' ability to purchase standard capacity magazines will soon be infringed. Before that happens, and Magpul is forced to leave the state in order to keep to our principles, we will be doing our best to get standard capacity PMAGs into the hands of any Colorado resident that wants them.

Verified Colorado residents will be able to purchase up to ten (10) standard capacity AR/M4 magazines directly from Magpul, and will be given immediate flat-rate $5 shipping, bypassing our current order queue.

Our customers outside of Colorado, please know that our PMAG production will continue at an ever-increasing rate until we do relocate, shipments to our distributors in other states will continue, and that we do not expect relocation to significantly impact PMAG production. We are also aware that Colorado is not the only state with existing or pending magazine capacity restrictions; we are working on programs for other affected states as well.

Full details and instructions will be announced when we are able to go live; please watch here for the coming announcement.

Don't even need any but might buy them so I can resell them to the free market for 5x what I paid... LOL

Hmmm....sounds like gouging to me Lowlight. I may have to start a boycott ;)

heck, I have some mags, but rather than break the law and drive up to Wyoming to buy more later, may as well buy some now and make a political point out of it. I am sure Magpul will be counting the numbers distributed while available and will make a point of letting Hickenlooper know what sales are like ...

Exactly bump their numbers up to make the point, THEN, resell them for 5x the price keeping in line with free market demands, especially since they are letting us skip to the front of the line :)

Hopefully Louisiana will be part of the upcoming programs. If not will have to wait until the vedors get caught up. Way to go Magpul!

I'm glad Magpul is sticking to their guns on this. If the CO politicians do not want a company like this in their state...move to another where they feel welcome.

Good for them. Nice final salute on their way out the door. Such a beautiful state, what a shame.

Once this mess is over we are committing to a few cases of Magpul PMags just because.

Thanks Rich, you've come a long way and deserve everything you've earned.

Well if its only 5x the cost count me in. I would have thought it would have been a minimum of 10x the cost since you get to jump to the front of the line.

This is terrific! It's not about being able to get the P-Mags, it's about poking the CO Democrats in the eye, which they deserve, since the mag ban is just a "feel-good" measure as we all know.

    Go Magpul!

    I love it!
Stick it to those bastards and sell the piss out of those magazines before the bill is passed and enacted.

Maybe we can get a deal on 20 rd mags for Maryland (soon to be a 10 rd state).

I say they stamp 'em, "Fuck Hickenlooper" they'd become collectibles immediatlely, then one could hawk 'em for 20x the price. ;)

Why is this commendable by magpul??

They have a backlog that is retardedly long. Their product is selling faster than they can make it.

They don't care who it goes to first. Why not CO residents?? Great publicity.

Doing this is no sweat off their ass.

Magpul, that is awesome! Are you guys ready to leave already though? I guess I'm holding onto fading hope that Hickenlooper will take you and us serious and not sign this piece of stupidity into law.

Love it. Poking their finger in the eye of the nanny state. If only every manufacturer would defend their own livelihood and our rights so well...

Because they are helping CO residents.

They don't need publicity, they already have it.

Doing this is no sweat off their ass.
You act like all manufacturers are just capitalist pigs and have no regard for their customers. I expect they are gun enthusiasts like most of us and they are concerned about the current state of affairs. Just because they make money doing something they love does not make them bad people. This is not your first anti-capitalism anti-manufacturer post.
    ..........

+1 to Magpul. They make good stuff, sell it at fair prices and they are good people. They also do a great job of supporting the shooting sports. It will be Colorado's loss if they have to go, but I understand and fully support what they are doing. I don't need any mags, but I'll be buying 10 just to help support their moving expenses.

    ..........

I don't commend any business that furthers their own cause in the name of helping others.
Call it what it is, they are helping both themselves, and others.

Sure, they have some publicity. This is more. And any business knows that more publicity is better.

And yes they make money. I have no issue with that. Or capitalism. hahaha Matter of fact
I'm one of the few on this site that has no issue with guys selling their mags or firearms at whatever
price the market dictates. That is called capitalism.

Simply stating that this was something easy for them to do on a product that was already sold anyhow that garners
them all this admiration and further publicity.

Sorry for not sucking their dick for this one like you all are.

I think its more about flooding the CO market and a big middle finger to the anti's more than any type of financial ploy. We can argue marketing, liquidity till the cows come home, but putting mags into the residents hands before any ban is just awesome.

Trebeck, the sales are what they are. Leaving a state with a business this size to stand up for our rights in Colorado or Illinios is worthy of praise.
Who said anything about sucking dick's? Is this a Freudian slip?

Always one with a smart ass comment.

Nope, not a slip, I meant to say that. You all are actually sucking magpuls dick over this.

There are many out there that would not think this is a good thing. With an possible federal ban out there perhaps the better route
is to just sell all the mags in the order the orders were placed without favortism.

I know Rich and pretty much everyone at Magpul apart from some newer people. This is not a publicity stunt. It is a severe pain in the ass to try to do something like this. Rich is a smart guy and he knows it will bring more publicity, but this is done on principle. It's the same thing with them saying they'll leave CO if the bill passes, in spite of there being a manufacturing clause. Yes they say that their customers would turn against them so they have no choice, but really if they explained to the rational shooting community that it would cost X million dollars to move and they'd have to uproot 200 families with kids in schools, spouses with jobs in CO, etc, then people would understand and abort the boycott. Rich and I have discussed this issue at some length and you can trust me that he is not just trying to capitalize.

I understand that they are giving one last fuck you to CO and flooding the state with mags but I'm just confused by a lot of comments I've been reading at different boards.
When Magpul started doing the MIL/LE program people were bagging on them because it wasn't fair to the citizens in the states that couldn't get them. They probably lost quite a few customers because of that. Now Magpul is doing this (mass local sales) and people are high five'ing each other. So do you still support a company that is not "stepping up" as many put it when talking about a company supporting 2A because of the MIL?LE sales but at the same time "stepping up"?

I'd consider massive donations to the lobbying effort real "stepping up". Not diverting product already sold from one place to another.

It's a very nice gesture to those in Colorado. Just kind of screws the rest of us that are waiting on magazines already.

Gents rest assured that Magpul is involved in the lobbying effort. I can't mention details, and I don't know the full extent, but they're chin deep in this fight.

That is awesome!! go magpul. now move to VA

While I would welcome a company of Magpul's stature in this state, I feel that us gun rights advocates would just be giving up on a state were we have a great chance to fight any legislation on gun control, and a victory for us in Colorado would be a large one.

Can we get a Hide member in Colorado to start a Group Buy?

I figure in this way, all of us can participate in this, and help out.

    I disagree,

Magpul has a choice. They will/may choose to leave because they believe a consumer backlash could be detrimental to the current business model they are running and/or have established. Magpul could also choose to stay in the state, but not sell any of their products to that particular State's law enforcement community as well as other State's that have similiar laws and/or restrictions on their residents. It appears to me that they may choose the path of least financial resistance and that's ok, it's their choice.

However, principle tends to remove most abilities to choose. Principle could be defined as, let's just suggest, for every PMAG purchased, "x" percent will go towards an agenda to help said citizens of Colorado reverse the limited magazine decision. If successful, use the PMAG's percentage net profit to help the citizens of other States. Magpul could then proclaim to their entire customer base that they are not leaving their State's customers alone in the dark but will be standing along side them to help in the fight. Customers would then not only be receiving a great product (I use PMAGs, great product), but purchasing from a company that fights along with those who need help.

I think some of the issues for Magpul is they sell to distributors, who then sell to retailers who then sell to customers. Magpul doesn't do any/much(?) direct sales - maybe to military - not sure about state/local Law enforcement. However I for one would hope to hear Magpul follow LaRue Tactical and others in not selling magazines to LEO when the state prohibits citizens from owning the same magazines. The problem is Magpul doesn't have a business model that allows them to effectively enforce such a stand. For example, there is nothing to stop RSR from selling to LEO in NY state for example, even if Magpul decided not to sell directly there. I think coming out an making the statement though would gain them some additional standing in the 2A supporters who see the lack currently. I am glad Magpul is fighting here locally, just wish they would step it up Nationally as well.

Magpul is very welcome to move the business to Western Colorado. In fact Grand Junction would be a great location. I would bet we could increase there production ten fold and donate a generous portion to fight this gun control situation we are facing here right now. It is unbelievable what is happening here in Colorado. I was born here and cannot believe how left it has moved. The left moved here because they screwed up there old habitat and left because it was no longer useful for them. What a country.
Invest in Magpul and stand up for our 2nd amendment God given rights. Be thankful Magpul still wants to manufacture a product that you need and relates to our range time fun.

Great statement by Magpul. Even better if they contributed some of profits to lobby for preservation of gun rights.

I would imagine them making direct sales to CO residents is a logistic nightmare for them. They will be forced to verify residency, collect sales tax, etc. Its not going to be a simple task to just take that kind of retail volume all a sudden if their usual route is to sell to wholesalers.

    Thumbs up to them.

Magpul is proud to announce the “Boulder Airlift”, our program to make sure that responsible Colorado citizens have the opportunity to own standard capacity PMAGs prior to the potential implementation of pending legislation that would infringe on their Second Amendment Rights. The program will be open to all responsible CO residents, (with both billing and shipping addresses inside CO) and provide access to a limited quantity of PMAGs. Remember to contact members of the Senate and the Governor prior to ordering and urge them to oppose HB 1224.

    Full details at http://www.magpul.com/Colorado

Similar to the Berlin Airlift, the Boulder Airlift will bring much needed supplies to freedom-loving residents trapped inside occupied territory. While we plan to initially use FedEx or UPS instead of aerial delivery, we figure that $5 flat rate shipping will make up for any loss of “style points.”

The increases we have made and continue to make in production capacity will allow us to open this program with very minimal impact on the number of PMAGs we are shipping to our dealers and distributors out of the state. We are also aware that Colorado is not the only state with existing or pending magazine capacity restrictions; we are working on programs for other affected states as well.
