Si Defense is now NEMO arms. I have no idea what the current situation is with the company but the Si stuff was pretty nice. I never handled the .308 but did get to shoot a Si .223 a couple times and it was a nice rig.

That sounds pretty informed. Is this fact or speculation? I haven't seen the incorporation papers, but I'm pretty certain that they are separate and unique entities.

Well it looks like Si is back on its own, or atleast continuing to sell parts under the Si Defense name. They had been acquired by NEMO and Si Defense was going to stop selling under that name and sell exclusivly under NEMO. I don't know what happen that they are back on their own now. Have I seen the incorporation papers?!? Nope, but here is an email I received from Si about 1 year ago when I had inquired about a .308 reciever set.

Hi Paul,
SI Defense has recently been acquired by NEMO Arms in Kalispell, the manufacturing and quality will remain the same. We are in process of manufacturing new inventory with the new company, and you will be able to purchase direct from us online or from Midway. Right now there is a 4-8 week wait on the receivers.

Let me know if you have any questions on this,

Best Regards,

Yeah...

I had heard similar rumblings. Not sure what transpired in the interim, but it would appear from the outside looking in that didn't end as planned.

Here are some pics of a builds I did with their 308 upper/lower sets.

I have built quite a few .308 AR'a using their uppers and Tactical Machine lowers. They are nice. The neat thing is that NEMO arms has developed a .300 win mag AR that is sub MOA out to 1000. Check out their web site. But again like I said their uppers and now I think of it I did build some AR's on their lowers a couple years back they very nice. I still have one in my box and it is sharp now that I look at it.

Redcreek, that is a sharp looking rig there....I just bought 3 of SI's matched billet upper/lower receiver sets through an FFL buddy in MT. I just got word last weekend that he's taken possession of them so I'm super stoked to pick them up in a couple months when I head out there to shoot sod poodles. From what little looking around I've done I think that the matched receivers might be the easiest thing on this project to acquire. Parts are scarce!! I'm starting to think that if this madness takes the rest of the year to dissipate it may take until this time next year to get it all put together.

I've got a couple ideas of how the builds will go....I'm gonna build one short and stubby for hunting elk in the dog-hair thick timber we have here in western WA; and the other one will hopefully be a long range tackdriver of some sorts. maybe one in .308 and the other in 6.5 CM.
