I have been lurking for a long while on the Hide, so I suppose an introduction is long overdue.
I am thirtysomething based in South Africa with a keen interest in anything gun related. My main passions are however, hunting and long range target shooting and hopefully soon long range hunting. The Hide has been invaluable in helping me hone my skills - here in South Africa most hunters think that a long shot is anything past 150 - 200 meters. Unfortunately we do not have access to the kind of shooting schools that you guys Stateside have. So the Hide and Lowlight and Co's online training has been invaluable!
My current fire-arms:
1. .260 Remington: Rem 700 action, 1 in 10 Broughton 26", Jewell trigger, AICS with Viper Skins, Badger Rings and 20MOA base, Schmidt Bender PMII 4-16 x 52. This is currently my long range gun.
2. .30-06 Semi-Custom with ferlach barrel and Schmidt Bender Klassik 3-12 x 42.
3. .22lr CZ 455.
4. 12G Beretta O/U shotgun.
5. Glock 19 Pistol
6. Hammerli .22 Target single shot pistol.
7. .22 Target pistol semi-outo.
8. .303 British Lee Enfield still in original condition with bayonet (to be kept as is).
9. .300 extra long BSA rifle (for collector's value only).
10. 28G side by side Jeffrey's and sons shotgun.
11. .338 Lapua Truvelo Counter Measure Sniper Rifle with Leupold Mark IV tactical rings, Kahles 6-24 x 56 Competition K series scope.
12. .416 Remington custom for Bushveld hunting.
