Been thinking about threading my muzzle for a brake. My 308 doesnt recoil much but i like the look of a brake and less recoil is always a plus. I have no experience with muzzle brakes but like the way these two look. I have also heard good things about both. Anyone here used both? Which one was more effective?

FTE and the FB are a little over kill for a 308 IMO. Check out APA little bastard. Same design as the FB but smaller diameter and only has 3 ports. I run the LB on my 308 from time to time and the recoil reduction is definitely noticeable and so is the noise increase!

For .308 I would go with either the Little bastard or a Rad brake.

I have a fat bastard on a .308 that a 14 year old shoots. I was probably overkill, but it looks cool and recoil is practically .223-.243 level.

I use a RWS brake on my .243 Predator due to a shoulder injury. So "I" need a brake on a .308, but I LOVE it on my .243. Why deal with recoil if you don't have too.

Can't speak for the APA Fat Bastard, but I have the Badger FTE on my .308. Dramatic difference in felt recoil and muzzle rise.

If you want a brake for 308 from those manufacturers, consider either badger thruster or the lil bastard , fte works well but for me its a bit big and bulky and bg basterd is more than you need-- its flat out awesome but smaller hreak from basterd family will do the trick. If considering silencer n near future might look other options.

Ive been waiting 2 months for pws to ship the prc that I ordered. Il let you know how I like it if it ever gets here.

The difference between the two is pretty much aesthetics. A 300 Win Mag is very tame with a Badger FTE. Another option to consider is getting a Badger Thruster. A gunsmith can turn it down to perfectly match your barrel's contour. Recoil will go way down and the aesthetics of a seemless brake are pretty nice.

I have two FTEs, but that's just because they've been more convenient when I was in the market to buy. If I was you, I would get whichever is easiest to come by. You won't regret either of them.
