Any feeding issues with the 7mm SAUM in a LONG action? I understand I should use the .338 LM magazine. But are there any other issues I need to understand before I start this build? I do not want to have to modify my action or chassis unless it's absolutely necessary.

Thanks to everyone for putting up with all these posts while I try and figure out this build.

I am on the fence with the same build. I have one on a short action but I load the bullets so long that it is now a single shot. I am rethinking the caliber due to brass availability. I hope someone has the answer for you.

I spoke with someone who has a short action like you. He had to machine part of the action to run the longer ones. I do not want to do that.

If I'm going to build this from scratch I want it to run "unmodified" so to speak.

I want to use a standard unmodified REM 700 clone long action dropped in a unmodified long action chassis (AICS, XLR etc,.) and use a standard unmodified AI magazine.

I don't want to modify my short action and I just use it for f-open so it is single load anyway. I have a rem 700 long action and was thinking since I have all the reloading equipment for the cal I would just build another. I have not been able to find brass for 2 or 3 months. The only thing I have found that could be used is rem 300 saum brass. You may want to look into brass availability before building. I will say that it is an awesome caliber. I hope someone has an answer for you.
