something that i have been playing around with is strong side back pocket carry. seems to offer some pluses in my situation, namely florida's weather in summer. i carry an XDs and concealability, access, retention and comfort look good. anyone tried this, have any experience or input? holsters made with this in mind?

I carry the XDs, in an Uncle Mike #36 iwb holster. For the hotter weather with shorts, I'll probably go to pocket carry with my Taurus TCP in a handmade pocket holster. The XDs feels big for pocket carry.

I carry a Diamondback .380 in my back pocket when I want to cut down on weight from my .45. It works fairly well, things I've thought about though is while I'm seated it may be a weird draw. Also if you have a larger frame pistol it could be awkward to sit on.

I also have an XDs and carry in a Remora. It works awesome IWB but is only ok in a front pocket or side pocket. As far as access in my back pocket it just get hung up too easy. Hell, even my bodyguard 380 gets hung in my back pocket. I wouldn't want to stake my life on being able to fish it out.

Unless you plan on standing up everywhere I'd say no. Think of how a dip can, wallet, or knife print and eventually wear an outline in your drawers after a while.

Check out Pistolwear. I like it for deep consealment. Super comfy and the price is right.

I've been using my XDS in a front pocket carry. The holster is one that I made with the help of a friend that owns a saddle shop who did the stitching. Something like this could work for back pocket, but they would have to be big back pockets. Having the outer piece of leather cover the grip greatly helps with concealment.

Check out the Hunter wallet holster, carry my LCP all summer with it. The one on top, the other two are Bianchi professionals.

I am using a Talon Wallet hloster for my LCP w c/t. Great comfortable little set up, it looks just like a wallet in you back pocket, you can sit on it for short periods of time if you need too with out much discomfort and its very well made and just a great little set up.

they make one for the XDs

I honestly avoid pocket carry as much as I can. Its better than carrying nothing but I just feel its awkward trying to draw a pistol out of a pocket whether it be front or back. Pocket holsters help but Ill take an IWB set up any day. Just my opinion though...
