Buddy and I had a nice range day.... 45 degrees with a 4-7 mph wind (not bad for Nebraska weather in the month of March).

Anyway, I went 3 for 3 @ 1k in rapid succession (3 shots/3 hits in 7 seconds!). Target was a 30" gong (I know, that's a huge target.... but it was still a good time). Our (I should say, his range) range consist mostly of 9x15" ipsc plates which we made numerous hits out to 1k and in to 700.

    Jon Beanland built .260 rem

No comments on the ice hockey table gents... my kids are overtaking parts of my man cave... it has since been relocated (storage closet...ha).

small world... I graduated from Malcolm, went into the service for 6 years and now live in Lincoln... I do a lot of turkey/deer hunting in that area.

    take care bud.

Can you give some information on the ammo used and your elevation changes from 700 - 1000?

    Sure thing bud,

    Brass: Lupua .260
    Primer: CCI 200
    Projectile: 139 gr scenar
    Powder: H4350 (42.8 gr)
    COL:2.850"
    Temp: 40-45F
Densisty alt: 430-500 ft (per my kestrel)
estimated MV: 2750-2780 fps (no reason to burn my barrel out off hot loads... she shoots great out to 1k).

    700 meters: 5.3 mils
    800 meters: 6.6
    900 meters: 8.1 mils
1000 meters: 9.8 mils (with a 4 mph I had .6 mils on the glass for wind).

Nice rig, is that one of the cabon fiber wrapped Krieger barrels? How do you like that? Is it worth the extra expense in your opinion?

it's not. It's just fluted.... the pattern is called pins and needles I believe... it's pretty slick.

    I've got an M2008 with a 17" .308, a 22" .260, and a 24" 6x47L.

I've got an M2013 on the way and the .260 barrel will sit on that.

Awhile back I remember reading a write up by Zac Smith on the .260, 6.5 creed and 6.5x47.... I seem to remember his dope at 1k was 7.1 mils at 5000 ft.....

While in the service, we were taught for every 2500 ft of altitude, one needs to +or- 1 moa (issued the m3a/1 moa elevation adj).

With the actual dope that I compiled above at 400 ft (density altitude), is it likely the 2.7 mils discrepancy between Zak's dope and mine are based mainly off altitude differences? I never chrono'd any of my loads but I would assume they are close to 2750-2800.

I know there are many other variable, but the main differences between data was altitude.

Thanks for any feedback rendered here guys...
