howdy, looking for advice on the brands available -
purchasing the tools needed for rem 700 bolt dissassembly/reassembly.
firing pin tools, etc.
And if you have a favorite firing pin protrusion guage

thanks much

A dime or a dog tag and your boot lace work fine for taking your bolt apart for general cleaning.

Go to Sinclair's website. Kleinendorst is the cats azz for firing pin spring removal/replacement. They also have a tool to remove the entire assembly from the bolt body. I like the latter on my bench and when checking OAL, it makes fp removal so.easy.

thanks, really appreciate your info. have been "waiting" to put together a brownells order.. always seems there is something else to get :)

You don't need any of these tools, like someone stated earlier, you can use a penny to break down your bolt and if you want to replace the spring then all you need is a 3/4" piece of bic pen. It's that simple

thanks, there were about 5 other items I needed, so just added that tool to the order. Fairly inexpensive, so its all good. ive wasted more $$ before :)

cool. I'm a newb. obviously :)
completed a few gun projects, a .22 rebarrel, a savage barrel swap.
have had lathe, mill for a few years. just other little projects before.

everything to learn. many mistakes to make :)
