load is
110gr vmax
lapua .308 win case
cci br primers
oal 2.750"
49 gr of vit n140
worked it up in a new factory rifle 1/2" 5 round group @100y
problem is cant find find any printed load data for that weight of bullet or powder so not sure if it would be safe pressures etc in other rifles ?
any one played with this combo before ? be interested to hear where you maxed out on powder charge ?

According to VV's 2006 pamplet, for a 110gr Sako hollow point bullet, out of a .308, through a 24" 1:12" twist barrel, they list:

VV-120: start: 35.8gr, max: 41.2gr for velocities of 2769fps & 3157fps

VV-130: start: 38.9gr, max: 45.7gr for velocities of 2826fps & 3242fps

VV-133: start: 42.1gr, max: 49.1gr for velocities of 2868fps & 3311fps

They're not showing any data for VV-140.

Tested COAL for that bullet is 2.657" FWIW.

Here's a more up to date link,
http://www.lapua.com/en/products/reloading/vihtavuori-reloading-data/relodata/5/70

I'd say the load will be safe, you just won't get any speed from such a light bullet. Might be wrong though. If you experience a hang fire, shut it down quick.

as you both can see info on the n140 load is scarce
using the previouse of varget @ 3000fps the new load of n140 is approx 3/4" higher at 100y
which suggests if a bit faster , hence the concern on pressure

Milo I looked at the. Chart and yes varget and r15 are either side of n140 I couldfind no rreloading data on those on their web site for 110gr bullets ?

Your best bet is work up a load for any other rifle. Every gun is different as I'm sure you've heard 1000 times and will hear 1000 more. Safe for your gun may be too much for the next
