    408 Cheytac! Awesome!
That's a bad ass set up you have there.
I have one selfish comment to make, I wish you would have ordered a Huber trigger, as I would like to know how they do on your Super-Rifle.
Once you receive your trigger, let us know how she does. Who is the Smith putting it together?
I have to say it one more time, AWESOME!
Congrats, have fun and good shooting.

    Very nice
how does the magazine handle that round and which magazine is it?

I was just looking at the rifle and missed the text, RWS, great job.
Don't scratch the paint on your Hummer; someone I know shot his .50 cal from the hood of his truck (...DUH...) and blew the windshield off...lol. I guess he couldn't wait to shoot these big pills; not saying you would do that.
    Good shooting.

sure you are and you should, that is a beautiful rifle man.. your wife sounds like mine "meh" but guys on here can appreciate what you have!! how about posting up some pics when you get to the range with her!! would love to see what see can do.. later

    Very nice

As far as I know, this is the only 408 cheytac magazine made. I got it from Bruce Baer, but I don't think he's the manufacturer. There's plenty of room to set your rounds off the lands properly, and the rounds feed flawlessly.

She will give a guy a good woody. That's why the wife's don't like it.

Your wife is jealous cause your new girl is smoking hot that's all. They always hate when we pay attention to something else thats pretty. Nice rig.

That stock combination...though I've seen it before...seems to have become popular, and rightfully so! It's an awesome combo!

    That's a beast...who's doing your plumbing??...

Robert Snyder of RWS Gunsmithing built the barreled action, there's a local smith named Gene Williams (WGR) who does awesome work doing the bedding...
    Thanks for the kind words!
I've been dreaming of a 408 for years, and can't wait to see how she shoots.

That is definitely not something you see everyday.

Not to mention one of the nicest McM mixes.

    congratulations
very nice looking rifle, first thing I thought of is I hope he has a place to stretch that rifle out.

    Then I saw your location

When it's complete please post some range reports on that beast.

Nice rig! Nothing like the wife to bring us and our new "pride and joy" back down to earth!

Very nice! I should have my rifle build back from RWS any day now....I hope! He's building me a 6.5CM on my McRees chassis....can't wait!

The weather and wind has been crappy, but I finally got out past 1k today. Couldn't stand it anymore! :D
Had a bad east wind, but I was shooting only a few degrees off due east. I set my steel up at 1750yds, and got a few rounds off before the rain started. With seven rounds fired.....I'm damn happy with the rifle's performance! It took two rounds to determine the proper hold, and after that, I struck the target five out of five times. I knew I wasn't hitting the center....but couldn't exactly see for sure where I was hitting the plate...I just knew I was hitting it. So, I held the same for the five rounds, and I came up lucky.
I went out without a tape measure....but I'm confident this group is well under 1moa. The plate is 28" wide, and 40" tall....for reference.

Oh, I dug up one of the sighters, that round was really running out of umpth' but I still wouldn't want to get tagged at that distance. It was still over 6" in the dirt.

The projectiles are 420gn Rocky Mountain jacketed projos with an aluminum tip.
    Take care!

With this baby and it's performances, it would be worth having a video camera system to give you an instant report on your shots. A good friend of mine has a top of the line system he uses with his .338 LM at 2000 + yards. He is also on SH (Mark Dalzell); hook him up if you are interested, he is a good guy. He does not sell that stuff but can give you all the info on it; the cost is not mind blowing and by the time your bullet hits the target, you have a full close up visual of your impact on your laptop screen, right next to you.
He does have several videos on Vimeo, cool stuff.
    Good shooting.
