I've been reading about the Sporting Rifle Match at Whittington Center & thought about giving it a try. So far, my biggest question is: Which is better, shooting sticks or a tall bipod? Why do you think its best & what brand should I get?

You'll find a tripod much more stable and versatile, at the cost of weight that you have to lug around, and possibly slower to deploy depending on the circumstances... if you are fit enough to carry what you have to, go tripod and sticks to have more options.

Lots of guys around here use tripod/saddle setups from these guys: http://www.precisionriflesolutions.com/

I use an Alamo DLOC-M to clamp the bottom rail of my chassis into a Manfrotto pistol head and tripod.

Your not allowed to use a tripod at Raton. This being said, I use a PRS and pull back on it so I only have 2 points of contact. You would have to use a very tall bi pod to make it over the stick pile on stage 7. Most people have to take a knee to clear it. Feel free to come to the next match, someone will be nice enough on your squad to lend you a pair.
