How do I install badger scope mount on a Sako TRG?

The badger 35 MOA mount comes with a recoil pin. There are two holes in the mount for the pin, does it matter if I use the front or rear hole? Why didn't they just include two pins?

Ok I think I just screwed up big time. I tapped the pin into the front hole and installed the rail. After torquing everything down to spec I tried cycling the action and I couldn't pull the bolt back. I took the mount off and it appears when torquing down the screw that the pin was forced further into the receiver and I think the pin is preventing the bolt from moving rearward. There is only about 1/32 of the pin exposed now and I can't yank it out with pliers.

Any suggestions?

Drive the pin down through (with the bolt removed). Next time install the base with the screws loose then install the pin. Stop when flush with the base and torque the screws. Or you could return it and get a Near as they are the schiznit.

The problem is that the bolt is stuck because of the pin. I can't remove the bolt. Last night I taped up the receiver and JB Welded a piece of metal to the sliver of exposed pin. Today I'm planning on gently trying to pull the pin out by grabbing the metal epoxied to the pin.

Anyone think I should take a heat gun on low setting to the receiver before getting my probably one and only shot at pulling the pin out?

AH gotcha. No heat! Can you grasp the roll pin with a pair of vice grips (small new ones with good square jaws) they should take the tension off the roll pin enough to allow you to pull it out. If not you can always chuck the action up in a drill press and drill it out (very carefully). Good luck, sounds like a shitty situation.

Ha well I probably could have if I didn't break a 1/16 titanium drill bit off in the center of it... I'm probably going to take it to a real gunsmith tomorrow and see what he says. I'm looking at the bright side, I saved $120 in ammo today. Lol
