Love the clear plexi stock....nice looking so far. How deep is the muzzle counterbore?? Just doing my own sporter barrel. Where is the front action screw going--don't see room in front of the mag well.

^agreed lets see more, i assume this is a competition gun, BR? what class?

BR Sporter Class built by Gordon Eck..........Weight 7.5lbs Wood stock will be finished tomorrow. McMillian makes an edge stock for this action and Meridith does also Counter bore is about 1 inch to the crown. I am sure it would be very easy to build a trainer with this set up without all the wait and it would hammer

Very nice! Look forward to seeing the finished rifle.

I take it all the Turbo actions must have a left port for the bench rest folks. Odd to see it on a repeater. Beautiful looking gun. Is the purpose of the counter bore just to protect the muzzle?

BTW, your rear top ring piece is reversed in the photo. Kelbly machines those things to crazy high tolerances. I have never had another set of rings fit a tube as perfectly as the Kelbly rings do. They are odd looking but really precisely made.

I like it that way easier to load but you can get left bolt right port or left bolt left port.........As for the rings once is reversed for now .......didn't notice =) The counter bore tunes the rifle......I am no expert on smithing a rifle but what I am told it dampens the barrel vibrations.I will find out Friday at the range.......

Nice! I see the bolt has Calfee's favorite 6:00 firing pin. Tell Mr. Eck that xs hedspace is still looking for some whoopass ammo before the next Wawarsing match. You will probably have to find the right ammo to match the 1" recess tuning sweet spot. Lucky Mr. Eck escaped from Claryville,NY before this latest gun law BS. So where is the front action screw?
