I'm not sure where to post this so move if necessary.

I have an 8 year old Bushmaster Predator AR-15 with several hundred rounds through it, but it's in pretty good shape. It has a Leupold VX3 3.5-10x50 scope on it with inexpensive base and rings.

One of my friends has a 6.5x47 Lapua that he is looking to trade. It's built on a trued Remington action with a fluted Brux barrel and a HS Precision stock. I believe it also has a Jewel trigger, but I'd have to make sure. The rifle was built by a local smith that we are both friends with and it shoots very well. He said for the trade he wouldn't include his bases, rings, or scope.

Is this a fair deal? I know with the crazy AR prices right now I could probably get more, but it's a friend and I'm not looking to rake him over the coals.

Let me know...

If he could give you the brass, the base, reloading dies. I would maybe do it.

As long as you're both agreeable to the trade go for it. Pretty fair all around.

Action trued and barrel chambered
$400
Barrel w flutes $400 ish
Hs precision $400 ish
Jewel $200
Action $400
Total build $1800
I'm not sure how close I am on price of parts but if I remember right I should be close.

Based on today's political climate I wouldn't trade any AR right now unless getting a huge return, I don't imagine bolt-guns will be at risk of ban in the near future.......................as always YMMV.

if you're looking for a more accurate rig id do the trade. Go for it!

I'll get pics up tonight if I have time. It's not very special looking yet, but I've got 10 Cerakote colors in my fridge to choose from so we'll see what I come up with for this one!
