The wind is unreal. I left before the final scores for the day were posted, but the scores I saw were very low. The wind is 20-25 MPH from the SSE switching back and forth. As I have been telling a few people, it's going to get a whole lot worse before it goes really bad.

From a quick glance at the final tally for day one, I don't think anyone posted a High Master level score. From those High Masters that were in attendance, it really tells you something about just how wicked and fickle the wind was. As a Master, I think I was within striking distance of dead last in class. But hey, there's always tomorrow.

now i know why the midrange shooters swapped championship dates with us.....bad wind conditions in march plus daylight savings makes for a difficult match

It was the worst conditions I ever shot in to date, it was brutal saturday. Good meeting and shooting with you guys, very well run match with TOP class shooters. Already looking forward to going back.

Conditions were better on Sunday but it was a great match. Joe shot absolutely great; I'm very proud of him.

Also, Sunday morning, I learned that my friend Greg Rodriguez was shot and killed in Montana a few days prior. I was shocked.

Denys,

I heard the wind was err "challenging"...how much windage did you run on ur rifle & how much let-off did you use?

Were you shooting ur 185s?

The wind on Saturday was beyond challenging. It was downright crazy. Nope, I was shooting my 180 JLKs.

Thanks Guys!
But the wind Gods were with me.. I swear every time I layed down to shoot, so did the wind.
And to top it off my windage zero was at least 1 moa off. I was holding left some of the time, I think I will leave it there.
Learned alot this weekend.

You just take whatever break you get and you do your best; that's the way to win matches. You did great.

Whatever you were doing keep doing it......lol.......I don't know if the wind layed down for you or not but you damn sure took advantage of it if it did, great shooting Joe.

I wish there was. It was a shame to lose one of the most fun 1000 yard ranges in the nation.
