Flashlight With Permanent Strobe ON

Hello everyone. I've been trying to find a flashlight that will keep the strobe mode engaged. What I mean by that is that after the strobe mode is turned on and the light is switched off, I want the strobe to automatically come back on when I turn the light back on. This light will be going on my bedside AR15, and preferably would fit my 1" ring mount. I don't want to have to fumble with switching on modes and whatnot if I ever need to use my rifle. I just want to turn the light on and have it on strobe automatically.

What function would the strobe serve. Would it disorient a home invader?

The Inforce WML if you double click the on switch it strobes. Some of the inforce lights have a rotating tail cap that allows you to select strobe and holds it there like your wanting.

I've seen some programmable lights. Never tried one. I'll see if I can find a make and model.

As with any light and doing anything out of startle, in the dark, its all about muscle memory.

I can get the safety off and the strobe on in the same gesture as pulling the .45 out of the nightstand. Just practice practice practice practice practice until its ingrained in muscle memory. I practice loaded up with snap caps too. 0 mistakes, thousands of tries. If you let that snap cap go you know you would've just put a round where it didn't belong.

Thanks for the responses everyone. I currently have a Fenix TK-15 but I have to push and hold the mode button to get into strobe, which I'd like to get away from. I'm actually considering a Four-Sevens Quark Tactical/Pro Q2TL-X. They are programmable so I can set it to always be in strobe mode and 360 lumens, so pretty bright. Not quite as bright as my Fenix, but still bright enough. I really appreciate all the feedback, thanks everyone!

Surefire UB3T, Im sure its bigger than you want (and more than likely way more $ than you want), but it has a rotating ring on it to select brightness settings, and also strobe so as soon as you turn it on its on that function.

The Insight WX150 has the same quick double downward tap for strobe function. I run one on my glock 21 and its been a good light and the strobe function is very easy to engage. I wouldn't be opposed to running one on a AR or shotgun for a home defense type setup.

Surefire M720...hold on to your wallet though. Its a bad ass light and it does a whole lot more than just strobe.

You can either run with the factory program settings, or customize each of the 4 settings to your preferences. If you want tactical strobe to come on and stay on with 1 click, you can do that with ease. The beauty of these lights is that you determine exactly how you want them to function. You can program any setting where you want it. Click on = strobe, Momentary press - high, double click - med, triple click - low as examples.

They are not the cheapest lights, but they take either primary or lithium rechargable RCR123 batteries and come with a lifetime warranty.

I own 3 of them and after having and using them for awhile, I wouldn't consider anything else. In fact, had I gone the HDS route right away, I'd have saved money in the long run and wouldn't have bought alot of other cheap P.O.S. lights...... Buy once, cry once as the saying goes.

Call Henry @ HDS. You will buy one of his lights. You will then carry said light everywhere you go. After several weeks, you will find yourself on candlepower forum. When you start ordering lights from "five mega", you are in very serious trouble. Seek help immediately...

Check out the m20 warrior from olight. What ever setting you have it on it will remember even if you take out the batteries. Very durable and you can pick one up for $100.00

I just got a Streamlight 88040 ProTAC HL. Maybe 600 lumens is the new 200 lumens and I'm just catching up, but it seems wicked bright to me. Double tap to strobe. I've done it enough that I can get it on thinking it. It's in a VTAC offset light mount on my AR. Has the novel feature of doubling as an actual flashlight if I ever want to take it off the gun. And runs a whole $65 on Amazon. I wasn't expecting much from it, but it's a keeper.
