Strange question. Im currently running a 300WM in my remington Sendero in AICS chassis.

after the stock barrel is burned out im considering a calibur change when I purchase a custom barrel. What is the best long action calibur for long range accuracy. Im currently looking at the 7mm remington mag, are there others to consider?

You need to be more specific. How far is long range? What are the other important factors - like barrel life for example?

Choosing a cartridge is a delicate balance of many, many variables....that's why there are thousands and thousands of cartridges out there.

If there were one "best" cartridge - we'd all be using it.

Without knowing the specifics in terms of your goals, intended application, budget, etc...I will assume money is no object and suggest the following: .338 Lapua Magnum, 1:10 twist 25-27" barrel, your preferred stock and trigger along with appropriate glass. You should be supersonic to at least 1800 yards, more if you shoot at higher elevations. This may necessitate a change in chassis as I am not sure if the .300 Win Mag and .338 Lapua AICS are cross-compatible. Other options are .300 Remington Ultra Magnum, .338 Remington Ultra Magnum, your aforementioned 7mm Remington Mag (would go Ackley Improved, otherwise there isn't too much difference between the .300 Winnie and the 7mm Rem Mag).

Just curious - why do you want to switch out of the .300 WM?

Holland's .375, just because. I bet it would be a lot of fun, working up the loads and proving the concept.

Since you didn't give any specifics how about a 950JDJ. Not sure how accurate it is or the range. But I don't think there will be to much that will stand in your way :)

Not really sure there is a "best" LA caliber, but take a look at the straight .284
