These scopes are within $500 of each other and are in the same power range (3-15/17). I'm curious as to which you would rate a better value? The USO is more expensive by about $500 when configured on their website with illumination and the EREK elevation knob. The reticle on both scopes that I'm interested in is the mil-gap style.

One downside I see on the USO is the objective is only 44mm vs. the 50mm on the nightforce, making for a smaller exit pupil at the same magnification power.

A feature on the USO I don't understand how to compare with the F1...the eyepeice. USO has three options for the eye piece: Rapid focus, long eye relief ($250 extra), and Rapid Focus - INTERNAL LEVEL ($85 extra)? What do these different eye pieces do?

Also I imagine that the Nightforce lenses are made in Japan, or China, even though the scope is assembled in the USA. Are the USO lenses made in the USA?

A rapid focus ocular is like that used by Zeiss, S&B and others. Typical adjustments are a fraction of a turn. Leupold uses a multi-turn ocular adjustment that is not "rapid."

USO offers an ocular with greater eye relief ("long eye relief") if you need it, and a rapid focus ocular with an internal bubble level (just what it says).

USO uses Schott glass from Germany, I believe. I don't know who actually crafts their glass elements.
