All right fellow M40A3 enthusiasts. I'm building an A3 Looking for Opinions on which configuration should I build: Old Style DD Ross Bottom Metal with GG&G Rings, New Style DD Ross Metal with Badger Rings, or Badger M5 and Badger Rings? Thoughts?

They are all VERY heavy. I sold mine. It was an A5 but just too much.

Heavy and built like a tank. I can't wait to get them done. I'm trying to get the rifles right because I can't afford to get correct glass...I'm scope broke!

Do you also have a choice for optics? MST-100/Unertl 10x or Schmidt & Bender 3-12x50PMII LP??
I'd say go w/ the M5 & Badger rings if you've got the S&B and use the DD Ross M1 & GGG if using the MST-100/Unertl 10x.

Looks like I was typing when you posted about being scope broke

I would do the Badger M5, that way when you gather enough funds together for a spec scope the S&B will be much easier to locate then an MST100.

You can sell guns????? I have never tried that! I say go old school on the A3 with the old DD Ross, GGG, and an MST. If you already have the A5 in the works be patient and keep both. If you ever shoot the A3 from anything but the prone the old DD ross is more comfortable.

what you should do is pack everything up and ship it to me, that way you will not have any stress about it anymore..

Why choose? Build them all!
