Which stock for my DPMS 300 BlackOut

I have a DPMS 300 Blackout and it came with a really crappy adjustable stock which I want to replace.

I am debating on fixed vs adjustable.

I will use the gun for hunting and target shooting but NOT for 3 gun type competitions.

I like the Magpul CTR stock much better than the one I have but am also considering the PRS fixed stock that adjusts for cheek weld and to some degree length of pull.

I am open to other suggestions as well and can spend up to the cost of the PRS even if another manufacturer.

I'm new to ARs so I need some insight.

Thanks,

If you get the ACE skeleton stock you will either have to get the the ARFX-E, which is the shorter version, or get a spacer to place in the A2 buffer tube so as to use a carbine length spring. Many 300blk loads won't cycle fully, or at all, with the standard a2 buffer/spring assembly.

The Magpie PRS stock while great for target shooting is very heavy and cumbersome IMO for hunting. My favorite stocks for all around use are the Magpul CTR you mentioned and the Magpul ACS with a slight bias towards to the ACS.

I'm building a 300 blackout with an Aero Precision COP mono upper and Aero lower. For the stock I'm using a CTR. The only part I don't have is the barrel and need to get that on order!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Vltor EModstocks. I have two different varients of the Emods and they are far better than the CTR I also have. They provide a MUCH better cheek weld than the CTR which has practically the same feel as a spec collapsible, although the tube fit up is tighter. They will run you only about 20 bucks more than the CTR and it is cheaper than the ACS. They are definitely worth it IMHO. I won't be getting another CTR. I like magpul and they make some good kit. I'm just not a fan of the CTR.

I would think one of the adjustable ones would fit the bill. If you are going to use it for hunting you never know if you will be out there in a tshirt or a heavy winter coat. I have been out there hunting with a rifle that is setup for tshirts in a heavy winter coat. It was not fun because the rifle nolonger fit me. Now I go a little short on my fixed stocks when I do have a say in it.
