Are Magpul emags worth a shit?

Yes they work fine in AR15. As to what they are worth I have no idea. I wouldn't pay more than what a good USGI mag/Pmag costs since they are readily available so I would say $17-20 if your talking online retail prices maybe $25 if your trying to make a $.

Just as good as PMAGs, but will work in a SCAR, HK416, etc.

I am not a fan of the Pmag or polymer mags in general. When they first came out I bought a few of them and used the crap out of them. After several (and I mean several) mag changes the catch on the mag body wore down enough to were the mag would not stay seated. I could put them in with bolt locked back and it would just fall out cause the catch on the mag would not lock into the mag catch in the magwell. This was from just standard use of the mags, pulling them from my chest rig and putting them into the weapon. That is the main issue with polymer mags in general. I have also seen several of the mags with "window" on the side get the window busted out which just leads to crap getting into your mag. I still have not found a reason to move from either USGI mags or HK mags. I have never had any issues with these mags.

^^ THIS!! ^^

Additionally, and while I have not yet gotten to test my newly acquired M3 mags out yet to give a seal of approval, the new Magpul PMAG AR/M4 M3 (3rd Generation, models MAG556, MAG550, and MAG557) PMAGs as seen in the link below (first couple mags listed on the page) have been adapted to run across the AR-15, SCAR 16/S, HK 416, SA-80, etc. platforms., thus eliminating the need for the EMAG more or less. http://store.magpul.com/category/PMAG

As for "what are the really worth"...well...they are worth what the market will bear for them which I'm sure isn't what you want to hear. ;) Simply put, they are excellent quality magazines made by one of the premier manufacturers in the industry with a reputation for exceedingly high quality, function, reliability and customer service. They carry a premium (especially in these crazy times when demand is through the roof, production is as high as it can get at least for now, but the mfg is also about to start a multi-state move to GTFO of Colorado before its new draconian, 2A-violating laws go into effect, etc.). I'd say if you can find them for $25-$30/mag...they are probably a "reasonable" buy with any cheaper being a bargain right now. For example, a couple of my local shops have good stock of these mags, but they are starting at around $35/mag for non-windowed and they go up from there to around $42/mag if memory serves (thus explaining why they have stock). Just keep your eyes peeled as good deals on the EMAGs and other Magpul mags do come up, but you gotta be quick on the trigger to get them when they do. Get on the wait/notify lists at multiple vendors like MidwayUSA (has a 2x limit on most mags), DSGArms, Rainier, PSA, etc., as well as keep a watchful eye out here on the PX and on the BARFCOM EE Magazine section (there have been some sellers in recent days since the Feinstein bill DOA announcement have some M3 PMAGs for pretty decent prices...not MSRP, but not horribly inflated like GunBroker pricing). Good luck and God speed!

In my opinion, if someone offers you close to what you paid or more, take it. The Gen 3 PMAGS do the exact same thing as the EMAGS, and for a hell of a lot cheaper. Sell them and stick with the Gen 3's, EMAG's are dying out as there is no need for them now that the new PMAG's do what they did for less.

They work just as well as regular Pmags, but cost a few bucks more. If you can get some for a good price jump on it.

I bought several when regular gen2 p-mags were the next best thing. Gen2 p-mags didn't fit so well in my chest rigs pouches they were a very tight fit. E-mags fit snug but can still be removed more quickly. I haven't tried the gen3's as I have enough e-mags. The gen3 took the best parts of the e-mag and incorporated them into the gen3.

Emags work fine- work great when running coupled mags. Used them for several thousands of rounds in 3 gun comps and had zero issues.
