Does anyone have experience with a setup like this? I'm not sure the HDMR is even going to cleanly fit in the mount.

pdice - What did you ever decide? I am torn between a Spuhr mount and this LaRue mount. What do you mean by "I'm not sure the HDMR is even going to cleanly fit in the mount."? Do you mean whether or not the HDMR front objective or shade is going to bump into the AX barrel shroud/rail?

I just put an HDMR on a Manners T4 stock with a heavy varmint contour barrel. With LaRue's LT104 mount (which is a little higher up than the 807) the scope was WAAAAY too high to get any kind of effective cheek weld. I just switched to an American Defense Recon-SL mount, which is lower than the LT807, and the scope fits perfectly.

TL;DR, you should be good with the LT807 and the 34mm tubed HDMR. Try at your own risk though.

Hope that helps.

Jonesy thank you for the info. I've seen the AD mounts but didn't think they were that low. Also concerned about quality. Any issues with high/low spots at the contact points?

Contact is as good as my LaRue mount. Both are great. I haven't extensively tested the AD mount, but so far I love it. If you do get an AD mount and you want it to be low, make sure to get the Recon-SL. That "SL" is important. Otherwise, it'll just be as high as the LaRue
