Free float rail for S&W MP10

+1 on any DPMS lo-pro handguard/FF tube working.

The Apex units are VERY nice indeed, as are the Troy rails. It really all comes down to deciding what design/features you most desire and picking one from the multitude of mfgs that make DPMS/LR-308 compatible handguards.

I plan to order the 12 inch troy trx. Leo, nice rifle. That's the look I'm going for. How hard was the stock barrel nut to remove and did you have to cut the crush washer from behind the muzzle break?

I went with the 9in apex. I have never installed one before so I am trying to figure out how I am going to get the delta ring off. But it looks and feels nice. I can't wait to get it on.

Oh, that's not my rifle, I just found these pics while reading forums. Mine is coming in 3 days. :)
Magpul MIAD grip, CTR stock and enhanced (fat) buttpad will be here tomorrow; will also order Troy TRX.

Both the stock nut and the included Troy nut use a standard armorers wrench. The rail should come with the proper barrel nut and wrench. From what I've read the barrel nut might be a little stiff because there is no grease on it, but will come out eventually. One guy from the m4carbine.net forum had problems with the crush washer, the others removed the muzzle brake easily.

Please post pictures of the rail upgrade process!

The stock barrel nut came off easy. Just make sure you have a good fitting barrel nut wrench. I did not have to cut the crush washer behind the flash suppressor. In fact, it had enough life left that I could reuse it. See my earlier thread about installing the TRX.
