How do I "Score" this target?

I made it back to the 100 yard range with my LMT MWS .308, 16 inch CL for the first time since zeroing. I fired this target -

How do I describe the group? I had the one called out at 12 oclock but the other 19 were "good shots". Am I presently holding 2 MOA? How is that determined? My elevation hold is within a one inch plane but I am covering 2 one inch squares laterally. Is 2 MOA a block of squares 2 across by 2 tall or is that 4 MOA?

I fired 20 rounds of CMP sourced Atomic Ammo, Remanufactured .308, mixed headstamps with 168 Nosler CC over Varget, sold as plus or minus 2600 FPS. I shot seated at a bench 100 yards. I realized when I got to the range I forgot my rear bag so I was using my fist under the pistol grip for support, not the best, I think the bag will help.

I have 120 rounds through the rifle. I dont think I have the skills to meet its potential - just a real fun rifle to shoot.

That would be a 2 MOA group. The two furthest center to center. You are actually under that. And for mixed head stamps and commercial load think doing petty well. The lateral could be wind also if not holding for it. Or trigger. Looks to me like got something good to work with.

I would venture to say that it is the shooter allowing for the lateral, especially since he is noting that he only had a fist under the butt of the rifle. As stated earlier, the trigger finger will cause a lot of that too, I find that when I swap over to my AR platform rifles I have to get used to the much longer trigger travel and it shows down range. I will say for not having a solid rest, good shooting.

I threw a ton of money at the rifle and in no way fault the equipment. I got what I paid for.

I was pissed I forgot my bag. As soon as I realized it I remembered the thought I had that morning at the safe "get it now or you will forget". Well I didnt get it.

I am happy with the CMP .308 ammo. It was reasonably priced and most importantly available. Too bad they ran out last week. I'll be tooling up to reload .308 at some point.

So I'm at 2MOA. I'll try to find some more consistent ammo, maybe load my mags to avoid bolt lock back, and most importantly bring my rear support to remove more of my input so the gun can do its thing.

Since center to center is somewhat hard to determine our club scores targets furthest edge to edge then subtracts the bullet diameter. Less argument about what is center to center. In any case close to 2 MOA and except for the called flyer a pretty solid group especially with no rear bag.. I'll bet your groups will shrink with more precise ammunition for your rifle and working on you technique.

Hows the trigger? "Mil-spec" triggers arent usually that great for bench work at least it is for me.

Last one I had was long pull and about 5.5lbs and gritty.

There is no chance for me to apply any blame for my results on equipment. What happens on paper is all me. Thats what I paid for.

My other guns are Garands and 03s. They are shooters but its too easy for me to accept bad results under the excuse "...but my barrel is 70 years old".

I should call this rifle "Truth" or "Humility".

Hehe, my first custom rifle is like that. I am extremely pleased with it and have shot itty bitty groups with it. But I get pissed when I can barely hold 1" with match ammo. Nothing to blame but myself. :(
