Want a monopod for my mcm a4. It has no sling stud, so do I go with a sling stud or a short chunk of rail? Are the atlas pods good. Also what height for prone laying in unmowed grass. Just looking for others who have done this to maybe avoid doing it twice. JD

Are you mechanically inclined? If so its something you could do your self. Either mount a sling stud or recess and epoxy/devcon a mini rail section in the stock. The sling stud would be the simplest. Indicate center, mark with punch, pilot hole, then drill slightly smaller than sling stud diameter, then thread for sling stud and epoxy threads. There are some nice mono pods that mount via sling stud. You've got the accu-shot and the P3. Here are the links below.

Stud Mount Monopod

Oh and yes atlas bi pods are great. Some say they are "not as fast to deploy" but its a bi pod not a pistol in a holster...

And here is a link to figure out what monopod would best suit your needs.

Hope I could help.
