What is everyone using for the 6 Creedmoor? All I can find are Hornady dies but I remember seeing Redding Type S dies. I ultimately will have a set of Whidden dies made but he needs some fireformed brass from my chamber. I need something for the mean time. Thanks!

I called Redding but they scared me away about have to design new tooling for it. They said it would be cheaper if I bought 25 sets of dies. I am tempted to run a Group Buy, but I'd hate to disappoint anyone if things get delayed, etc.

Hornady Brass, Hornady Dies, what more could you ask for, the dies are tailor made to the brass.

I guess the Hornady dies will work in the mean time. I want to control neck tension (bushing FL sizer) and have a micrometer seater. Anyone contact Giraud about a case holder for the trimmer?

Here's the NS only dies.

The Hornady 6.5 CM dies are my first set of Hornady dies and I'm impressed. MUCH better than the .300 Blackout dies that I bought from Forster. I too would have bought Redding had they been available.

I really like the Hornady seating die. I bought the micro seater and it works like a champ. I will buy more Hornady dies.

I really like my Creedmoor Redding FL die set. They make loads that rarely ever exceed .003 runout. I did deal with minor ring-marks around my VLD bullets from the seating plug. I just chamfer the case mouths a bit more than usual and it seems to take care of the mark around the ogive. I also had a problem with denting the case shoulders pretty bad initially, backing the die out a touch and using less case lube fixed those issues.

I think the OP already bought the Hornady set, but for the future, if a guy wants a Redding sizer, I don't know why a guy couldn't buy a Type S, FL or neck in 6.5 Creedmore and just buy the correct 6mm dia bushing.
Seater's another story.

How well do the Hornady seater dies work for fine adjustments and who sells them?

When I ordered my Custom dies from Hornady, Ben told me I dont need a micro adjustable seater, I agreed with him, I mean, I know how much to turn the seater plug knob to seat the bullet another .002", its not that hard. So I use the regular New Dimension seater die with a match seater plug.

The nice thing about the micro adjustable seater is that you can write down your value and actually adjust from there. If you switch between bullets you can just go right to that number on the stem and be ready to go. The friction lock on the seater SUCKS!!!
