I can't find any info on this so hoping you guys can help me. Will a Defiance action drop into an AICS 2.0 stock or will the stock need some modification?

The SA has a longer barrel tennon so the lug is pushed forward. In order to fit the lug area needs to be milled out in front of the lug and filled in in back of the lug.

The LA is the same foot print as a rem 700LA and will fit if your lug is not too thick. My.312 lug would not fit in an AICS but fit great in the AI Ax chassis.

Hope this helps.

The same is true of the McRees chassis, as it is with probably most stocks. Just an FYI if the above info makes you think twice about an AICS. My gunsmith just filled in behind the lug of my Defiance Rebel SA, but did not need to do anything in front.

I'm probably going to send the rifle back to the original builder and have him install and bed the action into an AICS rather than trying to do it myself if bedding is involved.

My Defiance Rebel SA fit fine in all of my Manners stocks with the mini chassis. I know it's not an AI, but just for reference incase anybody else is wondering.

It depends on which model you have. We use a standard 1.150" tennon length and it is fine. If you have a 1.403 Length then you will have to deal with the recoil lug being too far forward. Just get a standard tennon length and you will be fine.

I'm not sure which model it is, it's an RWS signature series.

I sent him a pm this weekend and he said if I get a new style 2.0 that it will drop in but if I get an old style 2.0 then it will likely need to be milled out for the recoil lug. Now I need to find a new style stock, most places are out of stock and the one place I found I can't get a straight answer on whether it is the newer version or not. I am about to just order it and if it needs milled then I will send it to Robert and have it fitted and bed the action while it's there. I have to give Robert a lot of credit, he is very quick to respond and very helpful.

Bradu try Eurooptic.com just call them and ask if they have the newer AICS 2.0's. Pretty sure they do as my friend just had Phoenix Custom Rifles put a rifle together for him and the AICS was the "new" version from Eurooptic. You can tell cause the stock skins look different... more AX looking.

I emailed them and received a response Saturday, they are out and said the expect them in the next 6 weeks.

I just got my new aics and found out I need to have about 60 thousands milled out to clear the recoil lug. I am going to have my 1911 smith machine it out to avoid shipping costs, how much clearance do I want between the front of the lug and the chassis?
