Gunsmithing Rem 700 heavy fluted barrel theading

I have a Remington 700 with a stock fluted heavy barrel. Can this type of barrel be threaded or cut down for a brake? If so, can you recommend a good smith for me to send this barrel to for work? I'd like to put a Badger FTE brake if possible to save my recently repaired shoulder.

short action customs is up that way. shouldn't be a problem

you only need about 5/8" of thread for the brake, there should be plenty of material for that. send me an email if you are interested.

Fte needs like 1.2" or something of solid (unfluted) barrel behind the .600"long threads that gets turned down to a .800 cylinder. So as long as the OD is at least that you'll be fine. There won't be much shortening available as you probably only have about 2-3"of unfluted barrel at the muzzle.
