So I finally got shipment of my SS 1-6 and I need to know from those of you who have one, what length brobo mount are you using? Regular, slightly forward, or extended? I have no BUIS but might add them later on, and I use the stock fully extended for my LOP if that makes and difference.

What are you putting it on?

If its an AR type rifle I recommend:

FOR QD:
ADM
GG&G
Burris for the price

None QD and the prices are good:
Vortex
Burris
Leupold IMS

If we can be of help let me know.

It's going on my AR I already have sn ADM mount. Do you think it's worth it to switch it out for the brobo

If you don't need it immediately and don't mind the 8wk waiting period, GDI makes the best QD mount on the market but it comes with a (steep) price of $540 so it really comes down to what you want, need, and what you're willing to spend. I've used the ADM mounts as well and had good results.

First of all, dont listen to the shit above about buying an ADM or other subpar mount.

Spending 450 on a GDI is a waste of money. It is pissing money down the toilet.

I have owned the slight and the extended. I would get the Extended. You can use it perfectly with a 1-4x and if you decide to move to something with more power, you can still mount it will the ER and it will ballence the rifle well.

BUIS are pretty much obsolete at this point in the game. For a non battery powered, quality optic, you don't need them.

You could also go with a riser and rings and spend a little less money. However with a 1-4/6x, the poi shift wont be noticible enough to prevent hits on man size targets at a 5.56's effective range with a Bobro QD. It has one of if not the least ammount of POI shift as far as the QD mounts go.

The difference between ADM and Bobro are alot less then you make it out to be. Having used both, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend either. Bobro's are easier to take off and tend to repeat 0 better when remounted. However, both are capable mounts and both should be re-zero'd if removed and remounted. I think the ADM has a slight advantage in durability of its locking mechanism.

I do agree with you that for "me" a GDI is too much $$$ for my uses.

What is "sub-par" in your mind? If the mount retains zero, as the ADM does, then how is it "sub-par"?

Furthermore, buying top shelf gear such as the GDI costs money and it is anything but a waste but if you want to continue using "sub-par" mounting solutions, and pissing money down the toilet while telling yourself that what you own is every bit as good...be my guest.

Until you've actually tried and used the GDI mount then you really shouldn't knock something that you don't know shit about, based on price alone.

If you read the forums, Its been hashed out dozens of times, more than a few by me. I have no desire to repeat myself everyday. ADM is inferior to Larue, which is inferior to Bobro.

GDI does nothing a Bobro does not do, at 2-3X the price. It is a 100% waste of money. I actually like the Bobro design better. $500+ for a QD mount is asinine.
