Im finally going to make this happen. I have been given an opportunity to setup and deliver the first PRSC match in Michigan. Over the next few month I will be setting up and trying stages to make this a great match. All targets will be steel from 1/2 moa to reduced IPSC targets. I will incorporate shooting from vehicles, barricades multiple shooting stages, weakside unsupported, and thought process shots. I have upto 650 yards and also have shoot from cover and semi trailer shots. I already have put alot of thought into some of the stages but now have a few more ideas. I have tons of steel available for the match. I am also going to try to have movers at the match. RO's will shoot the match but will not have any data for the stages. I will give some data for some shots but most will be UKD. What I dont know is how many days to have the match, I prefer a 2 day event with minimal down time but being the first one I will try my best to make it happen. I hope to gauge some intrest from this post and maybee get a feel for what people would like to see.

Rifles should be the norm 1 moa or better with a scope that is the norm for a PRM. I would like to get atleast 40 to 50 shooters for the event. I will also hold a train up day for the people who need or want it. Im looking at the end of September for everythinmg to come together. Registration will come in the next month or by June at the latest. I hope to see some of you there and new people alike. If this works out I will host these every year and will try to get some sponsorship to help us out.

    More info to come.

Awesome Rich ! Sounds like a plan, what city is nearest to the match?

Match will be held at BWSA in Port Huron. Lodging and camping will be available. Forgot to mention 223 to 300 winmag and less than 3000 fps to avoid damage to the targets, no exceptions. To be honest 308 will be a very good competitor.

Rich called me earlier today and described what is planned for the match. This sounds fantastic, and to be able to go to a match and not drive halfway across the country is the clincher. I am really looking forward to this, as it sounds like some great things are in store for us!

    Practice up gentleman!

    I'm in.

    September 27 train up
    September 28 Match begins
    September 29 Match ends

These are tenative dates but will have actual dates soon. COF is coming along nicely. Should have complete in the next few days. Looking around 130 rounds if you missed every shot, maybe add another 40 for the train up. Realisticly if you know your equiptment you should be around 100 rounds for the weekend w/o train up. I have 37 stages on paper but the actual match should be around 25 stages. More to come.

With Rich's extensive background in competition shooting and nearly anal attention to detail, this is destin to be great. The Mi contingency of shooters are a great bunch of guys th shoot with and I hope like heck that I can get to this one. I Bet it fills up fast.

Thanks for the kind words... Lol, anyway hope to get some leo and some veterans to this one. Hopefully this could be a goto match in the future. My biggest hope is that nobody walks away saying that match was a waste of time. I think everybody will be quite happy and wiill experience some challenging stages.

sounds like it will be a good match! only thing i might suggest is making it a one day match and lower the round count. personally, the high round count matches (not saying this is one) are a little unnerving right now with the lack of components and ammunition availability. rayners range puts on an absolute fantastic sniper comp that is one day, theres 18 stages or so and 45-90rd count. ive shot many of comps and this by far is the best one ive shot. im not saying you need to copy it just that sometimes two day events for guys are hard to pull off as well. this is just my opinion...thanks for your efforts and looking forward to it.

My experience with one day comps is that you only attract local people. I myself would not drive 3-400 miles for a 1 day deal. Most competitors I know want high round count 2 day events to maximize shooting and traveleing all in one shot. My goal with this event is to try and make it a go to event. I am open for productive criticisms after the fact to see what people want or need. Also all proceeds except the clubs cut (still need to be worked out) will go back to the shooter in some form or another. Meaning if I collect (example) 7 or $8000 in match fees Im going to give away a major prize of some sort (rifle, rifles, optics, shooting accessories, gunsmithing, etc...) this is my vision anyway and I do think I can make it happen, that was the thought proceess anyway... As far as components go most serious comp people have 2 or 3 years worth of supply (I know I do and not implying you are not) so really no issue there. Anyway I hope to see everybody there as I am going to do my best to make this happen the way I want to and how my fellow peers would like to see it happen.

I agree that keeping round count down is not a good idea. As Rich stated, people don't want to travel to a match to not have the oppurtunity to fling lead. At the same time, having a lot of shots *just* for the sake of a high round count is also not much fun - for example having to hit the same target repeatedly. Once you've hit it once or twice, you've proven you can - so onto the next target.

In regard to one versus 2 day match - again I think Rich has got the right idea; people more than 3-4 hours away are not going to come out for a one day match.

That all said, everyone have a little faith. Rich is an experienced tactical shooter and knows what does and does not make for a great match and will certainly put together a nice event.

Thanks for taking this on, Rich. I look forward to it.

OK! I started the ever so dreadful task of sponsorship for this event. All of them have been very generous so far and if you know me I hate to ask for anything. All I can say is to continue to support the vendors on the Hide as they are the best in the industry. The full list will be published in the near future. I really appreiate everything they have done.

I think there are huge possibilities just by reaching into another Geographical region. should be a winner. This just grows the sport into a new area of the country.

If Rich is doing this you can 110 rest assured it will be good, if it weren't my son's senior year of football we'd be there!! Hope we see it take off and continue, good luck Rich!!

Most of the entry fee is going to go back to the shooters in some form or another, weather it be prizes, cash payout, Saturday dinner or whatever. I dont need the money or want it. I want this to be a premiere event where people are going to want to come back. There is no comp in this region of the country and Im going to make a point to change that as best I can.

Rich, I thank you for the work your doing to make this a reality.

Steak. and can we preregister? Have you talked to John at pierce engineering about sponsorship? Michigan based shoot michigan based rifle builder.

I would love to but I don't have anything under 3000fps. If i can scrounge up the stuff to do a .308 build by than i will be in.

I've never done a tactical shooting comp - sounds like this should be a great way to fix that. I'm in.

Couple updates for me to know which will in turn benefit you guys greatly, and I have been getting some mentoring from some of the veterans for these types of matches. Sponsorship has been excellent to say the least. I believe I can make it happen 100%. Stay tuned. Some of the best names in our community will be silk screened on the back of the match shirts.

Ok got the update on the range. Not good. So far what is scheduled is set in stone so we have Friday and Saturday but not Sunday so a 2 day match is a no go. so 9-27-13 and 9-28-13 are the date we can have. Or we can do November 1-3. My feeling on the matter is to have a 1 day with a friday get your zero. This would be a low cost bragging rights match, but this would set the stage for next year no excuse match. Or I might have another trick up my sleve. Please leave thoughts but most likly a 1 day match will happen.

no greed on the club standpoint just wondering if people would make the trek on a friday to shoot. We can still do it just dont want to put the effort in if only 10 people show up. I will talk it over and make final decision soon.

    Rich

If it end up a one day or two day shoot i am in. I agree getting guys to show on friday might be tough until your match builds a following and i am sure it will.

Count me in Rich. By September I should have my dope down so I'm at least not the dope that sends his cold bore over the berm! I would do As many days as you plan just to sling lots of lead.

One more thing. If my 15 yo son comes on Friday and shows he knows his dope could he participate? I know some are Leary of young shooters but he is amazingly mature, fanatically safe and a dang good shot.
