New guy here. Hi all.

I see a lot of you guys are using 2000 MR in .308 with great success.

Alliant doesn't have any data for 2000 MR in 30-06. Has anyone worked up a 30-06 load with 2000 MR?

Thanks

I see they do load it in the 270Win, 25-06. Are you planing on trying it in your 06? Ive got a good load for 4000MR in the 30-06.

Yes I'm going to try it out in my 30-06. But I want data first. Or data from someone that has already tried it. There maybe a reason for the lack 30-06 data but I doubt that.

Magnum76,

I shot 53.5gr of 2000MR behind 150gr bullet out of my M1 garand in 30-06...Very accurate load (shots about 1.5-2MOA 10-shot groups with irons).

If you know how accurate stock M1 garands are (2-4MOA), that type of accuracy is outstanding!

Thanks ! I'll be using 30-06 loads in my M1903A3 for Service Rifle. Can't make Camp Perry this year, damned wedding to attend. Thanks again for the info. If it worked in your Garand, it will work in my '03A3. I'll reduce and work up.

Of course there's no data for the 06 but i did find some data for CFE223 which is very similar to 2000MR, they look the same, btw. I notice that CFE doesnt give the most velocity for the bullets they have it listed under, maybe the same reason Alliant doesnt consider having data for 2000MR. Hodgdon has 54.2grs CFE under 150NBTs, almost the same load Flyboy uses. I did notice the velocities are much better for the lighter bullets(150s) with CFE, should be the same for 2000MR Id think.

JGorski,

You got me again.

Yes, my load development centers on the assumption that 2000MR approx = CFE223 it proved to be close enough in my 308ARs, so i went with the same assumption.

I also noted that the 30-06 loads are only a 1.5-3grs higher than the high end loads i worked up in my 308ARs.

The 53.5gr of 2000MR also shows NO Pressure signs. The primer is nice and round, and i cleaned an SR-1 reduced target with it.

As usual, every rifle/chamber is different, work up while watching for pressure signs, blahm blah, blah.
