I'm looking to add a sling to my TRG 22. Is the Sako sling any different then a generic sling? What would be a good sling to get?

I would recommend a TAB sling. I purchased one at the recommendation of the Hide and it is a fantastic piece of kit. KRG makes a TRG sling adapter, so you can order a TAB sling with HK hooks. That would be your best bet.

I use a USGI surplus loop sling and sling swivels. Sling supported shooting with the TRG is very stable and accurate.

With a trg you have attachment options. Hk hooks, mash hooks or flush cups. Hk hooks and mash hooks will work without any additional adapters. Mash hooks are only available through triad tactical, I believe. With flush cups you need an adapter for the front attachment point. I believe krg makes one as does sako. You also need a screw to hold the rear flush into the stock. A flush cup socket is in the stock from the factory, it is just under and held in with the rear eye loop.

Personally I went with the mash hooks from triad with a standard tab sling.

I have a TRG22, and went with a sling design that is different from the ones here...although I really like the tab sling design. The sling I have is one very long piece of webbing that when pulled together has three pieces of webbing laying onto each other and it functions like a standard military strap sling to,stabilize shooting. The sling can be tightened, or loosened like any webbing sling. However, when the sling webbing is let out, there are two long loops of webbing that allow you to carry the rifle like a backpack.

I find the versatility of this sling very useful. Like most people with precision rifles, when using my bipod, I don't also use the sling. If I am shooting without the bipod this sling works like any other quality webbing sling.

The only minor drawback of this sling design is that your swivels have to be sewn into the webbing. Because I sew in my own swivels and buy webbing and the two standard slider buckles (the standard sliders on most GI slings) at a local surplus store, the sling ends up costing me around $5 total.

Recently bought a Brownells Biothane 1.25" 1907 type sling w/frogs & keepers. Very Stout, very tough and durable. Green one matches my TRG-42 stock.
Have used Web Garand sling, 1907 premium leather, and heavy nylon, the Biothane looks to be more durable than any other sling I've ever seen

Well... I'll get a better pic once it's all setup. Wearing a Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x44, Leupold Rings, ATRS 25 MOA rail, Terje Spacers and the old style bipod. One the way is a NEAR Alphamount, NEAR 40 MOA rail and S&B PM2 5-25x56 H58.

I run a TAB sling with HK hooks. I wanted the hooks regardless if it scratched paint on the stock, after two years of use whatever paint Euro Optic put on these things (.260 Rem) versions the HK hooks have not scratched the paint one bit. I'm kind of impressed. The TAB sling with the quick loop is slick, and works as it should.
