New long range chassis on the market

Stock design has been changed and all new parts are in production. We added a hook which has removable picatinny rail on the bottom for bag/monopod use. All chassis ordered from 4/04/13 forward will have the updated stock design.

Pleasure speaking with you.. look forward to getting it in.

Thank you for the order. I know that you will enjoy the chassis.

Also thanks to everyone else who has placed an order. As some of you requested a group buy this option has been added. Details can be found in my post in the commercial vendors section.

I'm interested in seeing a Savage LA in this stock with the forehand in place and the new butt hook stock.

Have you thought about going with a Victor Coy rubber check piece.

Would a similar OD-FDE color to the new Bushnell scopes be possible.

Otherwise good work on the stock.

Also here are pictures of the optional fore end add on. Unlike other manufacturers out top rail is at the same height as many scope bases which lets you keep your scope hugged tight to the barrel.

The top, side, and bottom rails are all removable. They can also be mounted in many locations to suit the end user. The fore end kit can also be purchased with out the top and side rails for those who just want a basic platform for handling or forward bipod mounting. Close up photos of just the fore end itself can be found in on our products page on the website.

All parts are billet aluminum and if you compare all the advanced 3d machining we employ on all of our work you will see what sets us apart from the rest. There are many complex operations that go into these chassis systems.

Your chassis is coming along nicely. I really like the newer butt, and the chassis, in my opinion, looks MUCH better with the forend in place.

As i dont want to mislead anyone I want to add that we have switched anodizing companies to provide a higher quality coating. We went with a more expensive company as they had a better facility and miltary contracts which meant that their quality was better and that they had a wider variety of military colors to choose from. I am adding pictures of the color samples below that we received from our new anodizing company. It is more of a Flat Dark Earth than a tan. It is a custom color developed by them for their contract with SOCOM. We have found that it is an almost perfect match with magpuls FDE parts. These are actual zoomed in pictures of aluminum plates we had coated. Actual colors are a hint darker due to the lighting in the photo.

Ver interesting, I like the new iteration a lot. The front end looks great and that tan is great. One thing that I think would be cool is if you could design a way to make the barreled action quick release from the magwell/buttstock bit for a takedown rifle.

I want to thank everyone who has ordered so far. As of right now we have 1 more Savage L/A and 11 Remington S/A available for order. Current lead time from today's date is 4-6 weeks (most likely 3-4 weeks but want to prepare for the latest) After these chassis are gone the next batch will be an additional 6 weeks.

We are now offering these in Flat Black, Desert Tan, and OD green. I have been receiving lots of questions about what magazine the L/A models will accept. To clarify, the L/A models will accept AI 300WM/338LM standard mags. They will NOT accept the CIP mag. We will be making a model later for the CIP length but have postponed it for now since it required modifying the action in most cases.

For those who have been asking about the fore ends. There are two separate packages. Package 1 includes the fore end itself and a bottom rail. Package 2 includes the top/side rail kit. PM for pricing. Also remember that all chassis will now come standard with the new buttstock which includes the detachable rail for mono-pod applications.

Thanks for the pic of the fore end with the bipod moved forward. All I could think of after seeing the original config was letting go with a heavy long barrel and watching your muzzle go dirt diving.

Welcome to the Hide! This is an awesome place with a lot of great people. Hope you enjoy your stay.

You asked for some constructive comments, so I'll offer my pre-coffee observations based solely on pictures and no "hands on" experience.

1. I wonder if the adjustable check riser is going to be in the way of a cleaning rod. This is a problem I have with the XLR non-folding chassis depending on how high the cheek piece needs to be.

2. That bipod is way to far rearward and way too high.

3. The lack of forward sling attachment points would be a deal killer for me and most of my customers.

Now, regarding bedding, the only way to really tell whether a barreled action will potentially have an issue is to test one. Looking at pictures of bedding blocks doesn't tell the whole story.

Again, just a few observations and hope the feedback helps. Always nice to have more available options.

Best regards and much luck to you,

Mark

Since swapping anodizing companies we are now offering virtually all camo patterns on our chassis. These are still TYPE III harcoat anodized. There are tons of patterns available from vietnam tiger stripe to multicam and atacs. Below are a couple sample pics of the anodizing work that my rep sent me.

The new colors look great. Will there be any extra charge for the new patterns.

Thinking multicam maybe a hit, is it too late to have the stocks already preordered done?

Cost is an additional $185, which is my cost as of right now. I am not making anything off of the coating.

I'm guessing he meant 7 pounds for the whole rig, I don't see 7 lbs. in that chassis. Make a folder with stream lined folder mechanism, Ambi flush cups on each side and a small ergonomic forend that's modular with built in flush cups, so they don't protrude. The forend could "slide" onto that 1913 base and only be 6-8" in length. Recess the cheekpiece screws, make everything smooth without hooks, bolts, knobs and strike plates and zombie spikes everywhere.

oh--forgot one thing--MAKE IT FOR A WIN70/FN ACTION USING TBM'S!!!---PLEASE.

I want the make a light model 70 for hunting.

+1 for a Win70/FN option!! I have an FN PBR barreled action that needs a chassis.

anybody take delivery yet?

had to put off delivery due to having an awesome time in beirut.

pfft. just looking to see if anyone has received theirs yet.

Hi guys. Wanted to give everyone an update. I you ordered either flat dark earth or black your chassis is finished and will ship tomorrow. If you ordered od green they are still waiting to be assembled and will ship Thursday. Thanks again to everyone who ordered. I received a warm welcome here and it is appreciated. Heres a pic of a few of the chassis taken on the shop porch to view while you wait on ups.

All previous orders have shipped. I still have both Savage L/A and Rem S/A available for immediate shipping right now in a variety of colors. After these are sold it will be another 8-10 weeks on the next batch.

Whats the biggest barrel diameter forend will accept? I have a Bartlein 1.35" no contour.

I have a custom built rem 700 with a varmint contour shilen barrel and after market recoil lug. It has hs precision bottom metal and mags. Will it work in your chassis

From the measurements I just took the chassis will accommodate a barrel up to 1.3 inches in diameter with the forend or several inches without.

Also hs precision uses their own proprietary mags and our chassis uses accuracy international mags like most other platforms available.

This being said you obviously no longer need the hs precision bottom metal so that won't matter.

As for th recoil lug the chassis will accept an action with a lug up to .275" thick with no modification or .410 with minor modification.

If you do offer a collapsible stock like the M200 Intervention as an option, I'd buy this chasis in a HEARTBEAT !!

We are happy to announce that we are now accepting orders for Remington L/A. We are also offering CIP length on both savage and rem L/A models.

would you be willing to do one with a tikka T3 inlet? Would be willing to pay extra, and would understand a longer wait time.

At this time it isn't really feasible. I will announce in the future if this changes but we would need to have a large volume of customers requesting it before it would become feasible.

was able to get everything together earlier this week and put a few hundred rounds through the weapon.

savage long action. great ergo's and a solid Chassis.

Nice looking rifle Michael! Makes me want to finish my 338 build. I would like to add that I have opened up a group buy in the market place thread with some killer pricing. Check there for the specifics. Thanks again to all of you who have ordered.

Remington short action chassis are sold out but we still have savage long action chassis available in black, flat dark earth, and od green in stock and ready to ship.

Folding stock mechanism is done. Orders will be accepted with a couple weeks. Just to clarify this mechanism with retrofit all chassis and is available for purchase separately as its on package. Pricing is yet to be determined. The kit will include the folding mechanism itself as well as two new shorter stock rails to adapt the current stock over to the folding assembly.

No ar stock adapters will be made anytime in the near future as we have received nothing but positive feedback from everyone who has purchased complimenting how ergonomic everything is.

Both of which are stronger than the competitions 6061. 7075 is actually stronger than some steel alloys.

Also we type III mil spec hardcoat our chassis while the competition only does a much cheaper type II coating. For reference that's the same coating used on paintball guns.
Which "competition" chassis' specs are you referring to?

Xlr industries, mcree precision, and roedale precision all use a type II anodizing. I couldn't find specs on krg whiskey or rock solid chassis. These are the only other options that I checked on.

I am not trying to down anyone else's product. I was only defending my product against a poorly thought out response.

A gentleman from a popular youtube video series entitled "sniper 101" has just released a full length video review of our LRPC that in my opinion is worth watching. It is incredibly well put together and has loads of information on our product. It should answer lots of the frequently asked questions that I receive emails about daily. It will also provide you with a more in depth look with shots from lots of different angles that pictures just simply dont provide.

I would like to add that I am in no way affiliated with the owner of Rex Reviews. He was simply someone who early on requested a chassis for testing purposes and ended up purchasing our product after a few weeks because he liked what we made. I do feel that he offers a very nice collection of long range shooting videos that would be very helpful to many levels of shooters from novice to expert.

Functionally it looks sound, austetically it's uglier than than a Sandusky soul, just my worthless opinion

I would prefer to see a few things on this:

1) Long hand guard to be able to have a far forward mounted atlas bipod so that you could put the legs at 45* forward and full extension to bring the barrel back behind cover
2) Monopod mount for the rear
3) More adjustable stock/buttpad
4) Folding stock
5) Rapid LOP adjustment for the stock (looks like it requires loosening two socket head cap screws right now)
6) Hadn't thought about it before, but the point made by ColdBlood above is a good one...make it so it takes AR barrel nuts to be able to install AR handguards and I think you've got something.

With it's price point, I'd expect a good deal of the above to be standard.
