Seems there are quite a few to choose from. Jewel, Timney, Rifle Basix, Huber Concepts and Jard is what I found in a search.

What do y'all like and why?

I put Timney flat triggers on a couple of my 700s. I've been 100% happy with them.

Main reason I chose the Timney was because they make LH triggers with a safety.

I use the stock trigger (x-mark I believe it's called). Consistent break and that's all I really need. I have used a Shillen on another build in the past and use a Jard on an AR build. I'd say the Shillen is better.

I expect my Timney 517 40X flat trigger to show up on Monday. So, that's my choice. As far as to why I chose it, it comes down to a prolific amount of reading/researching and having tested a couple different triggers on other's rifles at the range. I'm no expert, I just know what I liked.

Refreshing honesty or simple-minded flatulism? You be the judge.

I really like Jewel triggers but I've recently switched to Timney. I really like the wider trigger in the Timney.

Thanks for the replies. My rifle has the older trigger and I didn't realize it was user adjustable (rectal-cranial inversion). I found a pretty straight forward tutorial so I'm going to give it a go and see how I like the results. If it doesn't tweak to my liking, then I'll move on an aftermarket.

Best place to buy all the above?
Truly, you need to search the Internet. Use your google foo. Or choose your favorite supplier. I just happened to find the best price (for one that was actually available) at Midway, but your results may vary.

Bought the Timney 510 for mine and really like it so far. Especially for the price and it was in stock at Midway so I had it in a couple of days. Nice break on it and quite a bit better than the stock x mark that came in it. Had to make a slight mod to it to fit in the AI chassis is all. Only took a couple minutes after searching on here to figure out what it needed.

Bought my Timney direct as it seemed to be OOS everywhere. Got it quick and its nice to be able to have your desired pull weight preset at the factory. There are better prices out there though.

I have used and like Jewels but for my recent rifle I stayed with the factory old school Remington. The old groves just feel right

My personal stuff all has Jewell or Shilen. I put a Huber in a rifle I built for a customer, and I really didn't care for it at all.

Not to hijack the thread, but I'm an AR guy and I prefer the Geissele 2-stage trigger (SD-E in particular) and am curious if anyone has found a 2 stage that feels similar for the 700.
