Hey guys so in the past week i have chambered two hart barrels one in 7mm rem mag and the other in 300 win mag. The 7mm was cut with a standard manson solid pilot reamer and it seemed to cut slow so i just thought that the new reamer I received was not fully sharpened, But when I chambered the 300 win using a PTG removable pilot reamer I ran into the same problem very slow cutting and a super tight fit. So this is leading me to believe that there is something different with hart barrels such as a tighter bore or possibly harder steel. Has any one else ran into this problem? Is a carbide reamer the solution? Any info will help thank you guys very much.

Did you have the correct size pilot on the reamer with removeable pilots? Also, why would you chamber a custom barrel with solid pilot reamer?

The solid pilot was a customer provided reamer, and yes the bushing size was correct I got on the phone with PTG and they said to send it back so they can inspect the reamer.

Not all barrel companies use the same steel manufacturer. Even then steel will vary some from lot to lot from the same mill. I wouldn't be to concerned.
