So I have an XLR chassis on the way for my T/C Venture .308 and want to upgrade my glass. I have made a couple posts on the bolt gun thread about this and have e-mailed T/C and it appears that nobody makes a one piece 20 moa mount for this gun. That said, I currently have a Vortex 6-24 2nd gen Crossfire and want to upgrade to something that will let me reach out to 800+ yds. with my current two piece mounts. Holdover is not a problem as I am used to doing it. Any suggestions for a scope that has good elevation adjustment and maybe a BDC reticle to help with holdover in say the $750 price range?

Spend a couple hundred more and get the Vortex viper PST FFP. You will not regret it. or if you are stuck with the $750 get the SFP version

See if you can grab a used 10x or 16x Mark 4. Will give you 140 MOA adjustment and you can get a Mil-dot or TMR for holdover.

The new SWFA SS 3-15x42 is reported to have 36 Mils (130 ") of adjustment.
I think that's what they guarantee as minimum. Mine has 41. :) After a 100 yd zero with a 20 MOA mount it has 26 Mils of "up" left, so it would have 20+ with a flat mount. The ELR guys on a budget should love this scope!

Hey Jon, are you the owner of AADMounts? If so, do you plan on making 34mm and 35mm triple lug rings? I like the ring designs and I'd like to try them with either the Bushmaster ERS or Vortex Razor sometime. How do you like the glass in the new SS 3-15x42? How are the turrets? My current SS fixed 10X is pretty mushy and I like the turrets on my Vipers better.

Yes, we do plan to make 34 and 35mm rings just as soon as we can. I haven't spent much time yet comparing the glass on the 3-15 to other scopes. Initial impression is pretty decent--not HD level, but not too bad either. I'll try and do some more looking tonight.
