Suppressors covers...

Re: covers...

The TAB, Elite Iron and others are discussed here just to mention a few:

Have a read as it seems that the feedback on the Elite Iron is extremely positive. Just remember, you can melt any can cover if you don't observe the mfg warnings/instructions like mag dumps from your .308 semi-auto, etc.

Re: covers...

Get the TAB cover. They are truly custom made to fit your can, and the service is second to none. Great products.

Sig line below...the first link takes you to the Google-based engine which actually works fairly well believe it or not as long as your search terms aren't too broad (I found both the linked threads I posted above within a matter of seconds after reading your inquiry yesterday as evidenced by the fact that my post and your original were only 4 minutes apart).

Good luck with whichever cover you decide on...they are both excellent products as long as used reasonably.

what makes this new style better than, preferable to, or different from the Armageddon Gear with the drawstring, like pictured below?

I think Tony at TAB Gear has better things to do than promote/degrade his competitor's products.

Order both and let us know what you prefer and why Charger442. ;)

while that's probably accurate, I don't see why a manufacturer should have a problem enumerating why his product is better than another; i.e. why i should buy his TAB versus another Armageddon.

i think that can be done without degrading another company's product. Another's product doesn't have to be trashed to promote your own.

Here's one difference - AG comes in 3 sizes for one silencer manufacturer.

TAB is custom made to whatever the customer wants to hang off the end of the muzzle.

My thoughts on Armageddon Gear have been discussed here when their covers first came out. I don't need to rehash that.

Like has been mentioned we can make the model for any sized can on the market.

The construction is different as well with one difference being assembly which makes the outside seam smooth.

I'm not going to get into a pissing contest about who's are better. Ours are ours and we've got a fairly substantial customer base who have been happy with our products over a long period of time.

well, to be fair, apparently Armageddon will make them any size you want as well, according to an email response from them earlier this week.

from Armageddon Gear:
Just order any size cover in our online store (they are all the same price) in the color that you prefer. In the comments section, make sure to put the correct measurements for your can. We will then custom sew your cover with those dimensions. Because we have to special cut these items and work them into our sew schedule, it may take up to 2 weeks before shipment (hopefully sooner).

They obviously don't have the range of features and options that TAB has in his product line.

The thing that I think is silly about this thread is there are no data.

OP - "Anyone try an EL? I want a good cover"

Then we get a fanboi that says his favorite flavor looks an awful lot like an another 'wink, wink'

OP - here are the only facts that I can offer you:

the EL is @ $20 cheaper.. It may be a hell of a cover - I don't know.

I have no experience with AG - they cost what a TAB does.

I have, and will purchase more TAB covers (but since I need 2, I think I may get an EL and TAB, save $20, and be able to speak intelligently about it next time).

Mr Burkes has been shooting, listening to the requests of other shooters, and making covers that others are general pretty happy with for a good many years now.

Short of someone owning them all, having a lot if experience with them all on the same rig - annecdoteals are little more than - 'my favorite flavor is'.

I for one would really like to see some quantitative analysis, coupled with design contrasts so as to yield a definitive - 'this', not that.

Bought a TAB for my AAC 762SDN, and then added a biathlon sling and put in some McMillan flush cups...I'm like a pig in mud and TAB provided Awesome Customer service. My only choice.
