need a little help with my new build, never had any thing other then stock hunting rifles so my question is this
im going with a 308 m24 profile barrel in 24inch, 11.25 twist. I know I want a one part base and 20 moa built in but im not sure what brand base and rings to get along with hight , the scope ill have is a Elite Tactical bushy or viper distance will be 600-800 yard an once or twice 1k just too do it

I have looked over so many pages but its kinda like sensory over load looking in to it so much
thanks for all your help
Dave

Wouldn't worry about ring height til u get the scope picked out. There are several brands of good 20MOA steel bases (1 piece, picatinny): Badger, Seekins, NF, Near, USO etc. Make sure u get a base with the recoil Lug on the bottom of the base that butts up against the front edge of the ejection port on your Receiver. Any of those bases mentioned above will have that.

Lets figure out the scope u will use and go from there :)

You cant worry about rings, until you have chosen a scope. You have to confirm the tube size(30,34,35mm) and the objective size, or more importantly the actual OUTSIDE DIAMETER of it.

We carry all of the Badger rings and bases.

+1 on the above advice.

Even purchasing a base can be difficult without knowing what specific scope you are going with. You may or may not be able to get a 20MOA canted base to work properly (or at least to work properly with a common, 100yd zero) depending on how much internal elevation adjustment your optic has.

Pic your optic, then figure out the other details thereafter.

In short, however, I have always had excellent service from ALL THINGS Badger Ordnance and Seekins. Badger's steel stuff is hands down some of the toughest optics mount/ring stuff available. If weight is a concern, then the Badger alloy stuff is equally good, as are the options from Seekins (all alloy from them).

+1 for Triad or give Mike @ CS Tactical or Chris/Jay @ Sport Optics a call. They're all great guys and they all know their stuff. They're both sponsors here and will get you squared away. As for brands, can't go wrong with Badger Ord or NF.

XRS 4.5-30x 50mm is the scope ive been looking at but that is way off still, I have a new mill dot Nikon buckmaster 4.5-14 with some burris rings just to get me started for a while, im still tryen to choice from an aics or a A5 stock but wanted to try to nail the rings an base down to have them coated at the same time to match
